Tie Gong Temple is located at the western end of the north bank of Daming Lake. It was built to commemorate Tie Xuan, the minister of military affairs in the Ming Dynasty. In the fifty-seventh year of Emperor Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1792 A.D.), Alinbao, the envoy of salt transportation in Shandong, rebuilt it. It consists of the ancestral hall, Xiaocanglang Pavilion, Deyue Pavilion, lakeside promenade, lotus pond and other scenic spots. It is a comprehensive garden courtyard. The ancestral hall has a built-in bronze statue of Tie Xuan, which is 2.3 meters high and 1.8 tons in weight. The statues combine traditional techniques with modern sculptures to better describe the characters' personalities and inner worlds. The walls of the hall are inlaid with stone carvings written by calligraphers from ancient and modern times. There are many literati inscriptions in the courtyard, including travel notes, reconstruction records, poems, inscriptions, birthday speeches and commemorative articles.
