Cishan Temple is located in Tiantai Mountain, Shijingshan District, Beijing. It has 24 halls and more than 100 houses. It is an ancient temple that combines Taoism and Buddhism. It was a place for the people of the old capital to pray for children and blessings, and to make wishes and fulfill them. Because of its beautiful and quiet environment, the patriotic general Feng Yuxiang lived in Cishan Temple three times. Cishan Temple mainly consists of two parts: the main courtyard and the east cross courtyard. The main courtyard has three halls; the front is the Weituo Hall, the second main hall is the Great Compassion Altar, and the third back hall is the Sutra Pavilion. The Weituo Hall is very interesting. In other temples, the Weituo Hall generally enshrines Maitreya Buddha and the Four Vajra. But it is different here. Here Guan Yu and Weituo are in the same hall, and Maitreya Buddha is invited to the outside of the temple, and another Maitreya Buddha Hall is built. The Great Compassion Altar is the place where the Thousand-Handed and Thousand-Eyed Buddha was enshrined in the past. The Sutra Pavilion is also known as the Demon King Hall. It is an attractive place in Cishan Temple and is opened once every March 18. The main hall has five rooms and two floors. The first floor has a seated statue of the devil, 1.9 meters tall, wearing a yellow robe and facing southeast; the second floor was where monks stored Buddhist scriptures in the past.
