"If Time Had a Door, I Would Live in Toronto"
Not every door leads to today. Some doors quietly stand deep in the heart of the city, leading to the literary spirit and sparks of thought from the 1930s.
I lightly knock on the red wooden door on Duolun Road, and the breeze from 1933 gently blows through the crack, tousling my bangs and stirring the old dreams of this city. The doorpost reads: "See Shanghai, Walk into Duolun Road." I smile and become the modern woman secretly traveling through time in the story, holding neither an umbrella nor a pen, but secretly carrying a spark of inspiration for writing through time.
Duolun Road is not long, but it once gathered the brightest souls. Lu Xun, Mao Dun, Ding Ling, Ye Shengtao... Their pens once wrote the backbone of New China here; their voices seem to still linger among the bricks and tiles...
I turn into an alley, freely admiring the magnificent old buildings here. Many early 20th-century Western-style buildings are preserved here (Renaissance style, Baroque, British-style villas, etc.). Stone gatehouses and arcades intertwine, filled with a strong old Shanghai atmosphere. The afternoon sunlight dappled on a group of statues... I see Mr. Lu Xun sitting on a bamboo chair, with three students listening attentively. Quietly approaching and taking a seat among them, at this moment I seem to become part of this spiritual classroom. The statues are silent, yet a tacit understanding flows between us.
At the corner leaving Duolun Road,
I smelled the sweetness of an entire street.
The walls of Sweet Love Street are covered with love poems, the ground paved with messages of love, but what made me burst out laughing the most was the graffiti of Xue Zhiqian in the corner. He holds a microphone, his gaze deep and helpless. Around him are countless fan messages, some drawing hearts, some writing lyrics, and some saying, "Old Xue, I have already married someone else, but my heart is still with you." (Hilarious)
I stood beside him and took a photo, feeling like this street is a giant youth autograph book, and every stroke is the willfulness, laughter, and confessions of youth!
Actually, this street is not only for lovers,
it also shelters everyone who has ever loved passionately.
No matter who you have loved, chased, or missed in this life, when you come here, you can gently write a word, say "Thank you for letting me meet you," then turn around and continue to sweetly love your life.
Good afternoon! Summer on Duolun Road.
