[2024 Singapore Stay] Travel Guide for The Scarlet Singapore (Updated Dec)
End of August weekday-cation
Pretty average boutique hotel. Of course weekday staycation is what i need. The entrance waterfall is nice, design and deco were pretty too. Making way to lift lobby and my room was quite a maze. Room was kind of small, phone was not working, mirrors at the side and front of the bed, weird design.

best boutique stay
We really liked our stay at this hotel. I especially liked they didn't nickel and dime you like most U.S. hotels. They let me borrow a power adapter for free and the things in mini fridge are complimentary; plus a bottle of red wine I didn't get a chance to crack open. Such things go a long way.
Snacks and fruit in lobby. Upstairs rooftop bar had a great view. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. Also convenient location to markets, antique stores, and subway station just down the street. I'll stay here again if I return to Singapore.

The Scarlet Singapore Hotel: Located near Chinatown, it features distinctive decorations
The Scarlet Hotel is a small boutique hotel with a Southeast Asian traditional architectural style and decor. It has a limited number of rooms, but the decoration is quite impressive. There is a gym and spa available.
Although it is not as well-known as the novel 'Gone with the Wind', its author, the lead actors, or the film company, nor as famous as the lead actors and director of 'Lost in Translation', this hotel can indeed be considered a high-end boutique hotel with exquisite decorations. The interior decor has a mix of Southeast Asian and Indian styles.
The location is excellent, close to the Chinatown area of Singapore, which is a traditional Chinese settlement made up of several roads and streets. It was once the busiest commercial area in Singapore, and although it no longer holds that title, it has developed into a dining and shopping district with a variety of ethnic restaurants and other shops, still one of the hotspots for tourism and shopping in Singapore.
While Singapore itself is a large Chinese settlement in Southeast Asia, Chinatown still has many traditional Chinese shops with a wide variety of goods, such as the well-known Yue Hwa Chinese Products Emporium in both Hong Kong and Singapore. Just as if you want to buy Indian goods in Singapore, you can find Indian-run shops in many areas, but if you go to the Little India district, you might be able to shop faster, save time, and have a wider selection of Indian goods to choose from.

First ever boutique hotel that I stayed. Booked the cheapest room just to try out and it was a pleasant stay except the walls are not very soundproof with little to no view. if you are a scenery kind of person, this hotel is not for you.
Check in is smooth and staff are very nice. Nearby the area have a lot of food to eat within walking distance. Carpark is not free. Tv have YouTube, website and Netflix. Lots of choices for you to choose from.
Free Minibar with lots of drinks choices and snacks. enough for a good one night stay.
pleasant stay with free late checkout when asked.

Impromptu workcation @ The Scarlet
Needed a quiet place to work from for a few days. Booking and check-in was only within a span of a few hours but I had a great stay. The booking came with complimentary minibar that the staff promptly came by to refill every morning, as well as a complimentary bottle of red wine.
The initial room assigned to me was facing the roadside and really noisy as it was on the 2nd level, and cars drove by quite frequently. Thankfully my change of room request was accepted and I was given this fabulous corner room, which was spacious and cozy.
The hotel is located just beside Maxwell Food Centre, making it very convenient to grab a quick lunch of dinner. Breakfast was provided at the Sofi Cafe downstairs, and servings were decently sized. It is also about a 10-minute walk to Chinatown MRT and there are plenty of food options along the way.
My only gripe is that room cleanliness could be very much improved. Obvious stains could be found on utensils, cups, bathroom towels, and even the quilt, and I had to ask for housekeeping to re-clean the room.
Other than that, I did enjoy my stay and would come back for another stay to explore the food around the area.
