Prague's most unpopular and beautiful church is so beautiful that you can take photos
Prague really has endless treasures. Every day I inexplicably walk into all kinds of mysterious and little-known places. This time we went to Loreta, a place where there is basically no guide available on the Internet.
How to describe what kind of place is Loreta? Since the 17th century, it has become a Catholic pilgrimage site. This place includes a church, a monastery, a bell tower, and a crypt. There are a large number of religious relics, artworks and historical stories here, including even a mummy preserved in a coffin. It has now been developed into a museum with a religious history theme.
The Loreta church is very beautiful and very gorgeous influenced by the Italian Baroque style. The photo taking is very nice! There is a small chapel in the middle of the monastery's courtyard. You can really feel the breath of time and history as soon as you enter. The mottled walls and the damaged ancient murals under the soil are displayed in front of you without any disguise, giving you an inexplicable sense of sacredness.
The most amazing thing is that there is also a slightly scary crypt, which displays frescoes with the theme of "memento mori" that depict skulls, hourglasses and Catholic symbols. It was only when I came here that I learned that memento mori is an art form that deeply reflects the Catholic allegory of the passage of time and resurrection through the depiction of death.
Loreta is not a famous attraction in Prague and there are basically few tourists coming here, but it is indeed a very local symbol of Prague's history and culture. There are many things worth seeing and it is also very photogenic. Tickets are discounted for those under 25 years old and are very cheap, so it is definitely worth it!
