The National Museum of Finland is located in central Helsinki, just a 3-minute walk from the Parliament building. The museum has a medieval church-like appearance. It is a building that combines ancient Finnish churches and castles. It was designed by three Finnish architects. There is a statue of a stone bear at the entrance of the museum, which has become one of the symbols of the National Museum of Finland. On the ceiling of the entrance hall of the museum is a large fresco painted by Galen Carrera inspired by the epic poem "Kalevala". The museum has 4 floors, but some floors are often closed due to various events. You can check the open exhibition halls on the official website in advance. There is also a handicraft workshop inside the museum, where visitors and children can experience the history and culture, such as weaving long carpets, assembling lines, and making a small house model. In addition, the museum also displays many ancient Finnish ornaments and medieval church art, as well as traditional costumes with a strong national style, showing the development of Finland from prehistoric civilization to today's society to tourists.
