Long-awaited Sabah sunset, finally seen again! After four years apart, I missed it so much. Fortunately, just arrived and checked in at Magellan Sutera Resort, I encountered a stunning sunset and evening glow. Sutera Harbour Resort, a local brand and the largest resort in Sabah, sits on 384 acres of bay area adjacent to the city of Kota Kinabalu. The resort features a golf club, yacht club, Pacific Sutera Hotel, and Magellan Sutera Resort. For this trip, we chose the Magellan Sutera Resort, which draws inspiration from the traditional longhouse architecture of the Sabah indigenous tribe, the Kadazan-Dusun. The resort's distinctive orange roofs stand out against the backdrop of the azure sea. Magellan boasts a long and charming coastline, complemented by a large swimming pool and beautiful garden landscapes. It also features a large leisure pool exclusively for children, making it a great choice for family vacations. If you want to visit the nearby islands, the Silk Harbor Terminal within the hotel provides a convenient way to reach the five islands of Tenggol Island Marine Park in just a short boat ride. The sea view room we stayed in this time was of moderate size and well-equipped. The best part was being able to enjoy the expansive sea view and intoxicating sunset from the balcony. Sabah is known as one of the "world's three most beautiful sunsets", and being able to privately enjoy this dreamy scenery from our own room, what could be more delightful than this!

Getting There - From KKIA took about 10 minutes. it's really close to gaya street. Attractions - if you would like to go manukan island, you can do a day trip from this hotel to jetty. Hotels - Me booked a seaview room. including breakfast. there is no deposit since i had fully paid the hotel in advance. the room was huge and cozy. old furniture but clean and comfy. there is a balcony which facing the sea and it is really nice. Food & Restaurants - The food is tasty. the selection also a lot. the ambience of restaurant is great! We really cannot believe this resort is located at the heart of Kota Kinabalu. The greenery of the frost is just unbelievable, and harbour view is so beautiful! A short getaway staycation at The Magellan Sutera was kinda amazing! The stunning harbour view is just incredible! The swimming pool area one of the best in Malaysia, its huge and can accommodate all the hotel guests. We just spend whole day here enjoying the view and the swimming pool! #bucketlistreboot We stayed here when we arrived from Kota Belud. The was so big, with all amenities needed! Staff were also very friendly. The resort is situated on a private/gated peninsula concisting of two hotels (Magellan and Pacific) and a country club, and you can use all the features of those three as a guest; you do not actually need to leave the resort; everything you want and need is there! On premises (both the Magellan and Pacific in addition to the country club) you can choose from 8-10 different restaurants and bars, and all the food is great (the service at Al Fresco and Marina Café is somewhat slow) and the prices are reasonable. We didn’t get to really explore the resort as we lack of time. Too tired from the trail run and all I really need is a comfy bed. Really wanted to dip in the resorts beach but when we woke up, it’s late already. Next time we will definitely be back.

Also, we use our discount ticket at the well-known Mandara Spa, Buy 1 free 1 for all treatment. Indulging and pampering ourselves with the quick escape after our two-days of wedding reception was our best decision ever made. We jumped on the wedding wagon straight to Magellan Sutera Harbour the day after, welcomed with chocholate praline for two, then we head to the dock for our 30-mins sunset cruise. At 6pm, we went to the Mandara Spa and we picked the best time ever to soak in the floral bath! We got to enjoy the sunset view from the jacuzzi. After the spa, we had our romantic dinner at the Alfresco. Then, we had our best time in the huge bath tub in the bed room before sleeping. The two-days experience was amazing, the package is affordable and you can just simply book it on Sutera Harbour website!
