2025 Seoul Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in March)
Seoul is the capital city of South Korea. The temples and palaces of this city tell a long and storied history. The magnificent natural landscape and modern skyscrapers merge together to form a city that is both young and cultured. Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung Palaces are ancient palaces, while Bukchon Hanok Village and Namsangol Hanok Village are well-preserved traditional Korean villages. Seoul is a shopping paradise. In Myeong-dong, Dongdaemun Market, Sinsa-dong, and Samcheong-dong, you can find all kinds of cutting-edge fashions, including clothing, jewelry, and make-up. Once night falls, Seoul is even more magnificent. Climb atop the YTN Seoul Tower to feast your eyes on the city's glittering nightscape. The Han River is the background of many beloved Korean soap operas. Seoul's delicious food is not to be missed. Bibimbap, kimchi, and Samgyetang (Korean ginseng chicken soup) are all delicious in their own right.

RYSE Hongdae Designer Hotel
Recently, I traveled to Seoul and noticed this newly opened hotel. Curious about the designer's aesthetic, I decided to stay there.
This boutique hotel, full of design elements, is located in the vibrant Hongdae district. It's just a few minutes' walk from Hongdae Station, making it very convenient. The area is filled with great food, shopping, and nightlife options.
The hotel's interior is stylish, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Some rooms offer views of Seoul's nightscape. The hotel also features high-quality restaurants, a café, and a gym, providing excellent facilities and attentive service.
There are many aesthetically pleasing features within the hotel, such as the red spiral staircase chandelier, which is a popular photo spot among tourists.

Seoul | Travel Back 600 Years at Bukchon Hanok Village, the Former 'Luxury District' of the Yangban
The area in Seoul where you can best experience historical charm is Jongno, and Bukchon Hanok Village, adjacent to Gyeongbokgung Palace and Changdeokgung Palace, is a must-visit for tourists. Connected to Bugaksan Mountain, the area is said to be a feng shui treasure with higher terrain in the north and lower in the south.
Over 600 years ago, this was a 'luxury' settlement for the yangban (Korean aristocrats), and it has now become a popular tourist destination. The stone walls, blue tiles, and grand wooden gates form what is known as the Eight Views of Bukchon.
In the past, commoners could only live in thatched houses, while nobles lived in warmer tiled houses equipped with ondol (underfloor heating) to withstand the cold northern winters. The interiors of traditional hanoks are lined with hanji (Korean paper) and have wooden frames to regulate temperature and humidity.
The tour takes about two hours, and since there are many slopes, it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes. On the day of the visit, there were many noisy tour groups, and volunteers were stationed at several intersections to guide visitors. As this is a residential area, tourists are reminded to keep quiet.
🚗 Transportation: Anguk Station on Subway Line 3; or take Jongno 02 bus and get off at Bukchon Hanok Village Station.

Seoul Accommodation | New Hotel in Myeongdong
The hotel opened in October 2023 and is located near Chungmuro Subway Station in downtown Seoul, about a 10-minute walk to Myeongdong Shopping Street. There are two 24-hour convenience stores and a coffee shop☕️ on the first floor of the hotel. Next to the hotel, there are also BBQ restaurants, fried chicken shops, and Korean knife-cut noodle shops, making it very convenient.
The hotel staff are very friendly, and there is a self-check-in machine and a currency exchange machine. They can communicate in English. However, the luggage storage service is charged at 1,000 KRW per hour.
I booked a family room, which was clean and tidy with full amenities, including a microwave, washing machine, refrigerator, etc. The soundproofing is also very good, and it is very quiet at night. The room door is accessed by entering a password.
Highly recommended for families and travelers with children!

Seoul | Gwangjang Market
Gwangjang Market in Seoul is a small world full of authentic Korean flavors and warmth. Every time you step in, you are surrounded by bustling vendors and steaming hot food, as if you have instantly entered a taste adventure. From traditional Korean pancakes and delicious gimbap to mouth-watering ready-to-eat dishes, this place always satisfies all your cravings for authentic snacks.
In the market, the enthusiastic greetings from many vendors always make you feel very welcome. Especially when you meet the lady selling snacks and ginseng, who always greets every customer with a smile and warmly introduces the local delicacies, making you feel a sense of warmth.
Want to taste classic Korean snacks, find handmade products, or bring back some local souvenirs? Gwangjang Market is definitely a must-visit spot in your Seoul travel!
Seoul Anguo Must-eat Salt Bread
In recent years, the most popular bread in Seoul is salt bread, in addition to London bagels.
Believe me, after eating the salt bread of 아티스트베이커리, you will never want to eat the salt bread of Seongsu-dong again🤣
The salt bread of 아티스트베이커리 is really very very very delicious!!!
And there are many varieties, both salty and sweet
Each salt bread is full of fillings and the bread is very solid. It is not the kind of hollow bread. After eating one, I can't stop eating it and want to eat it again🙈
Every time I go there, the flavors I must buy are original and berry
If the original flavor is to be eaten the next day, it will need to be heated
Berry can be kept and it tastes just as good the next day. Although there is berry jam, it is not a very chemical sweet taste
Other flavors such as lemon, chocolate, chive cheese or raw milk are also popular products in the store. I recommend them!
But the drinks are quite ordinary, so you don’t need to order them.
If you eat in the store, the seats are relatively small, so it is recommended to take out for faster service.

The Story of Bukchon Hanok Village: A Blend of Tradition and Modernity
💞Recommended reasons:
Bukchon Hanok Village allows you to visit traditional Korean houses and experience Korean culture. Wander in the alleys and take beautiful check-in photos. You can also rent hanbok and wear traditional costumes to take photos.
history:
The history of Bukchon Hanok Village dates back to the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910), when it was the residence of royal nobles and officials.
At the end of the 20th century, Bukchon Hanok Village was threatened with demolition and reconstruction. In order to protect this historical and cultural heritage, the government began protection and restoration work in the 1990s. There are many cultural experience centers and handicraft workshops in Bukchon Hanok Village where you can learn traditional arts such as pottery, calligraphy, and try on hanbok, and learn more about Korean history and culture.
😋 Food:
Sanqingdong Noodles
You can taste authentic Korean noodles at famous noodle restaurants, try different flavors of noodles, and pair them with special side dishes.

Seoul Myeongdong LINE FRIENDS SQUARE
This time in Seoul, I happened to come across the GD brand peaceminusone x monamhee collaboration pop-up store.
The LINE FRIENDS store in Myeongdong is very large, with a total of two floors. Pop-up store events are usually held on the second floor.
The first floor sells LINE or other LINE licensed cartoon merchandise.
The pop-up store is well-organized. If you like the collaboration characters, you can come and take a look.

Insadong MOXY room is nice and breakfast is good
#JanuaryGoodPlaces2025
Insadong Moxy in Seoul has always been younger and more lively, and not too expensive. Located at exit 4 and 5 of Jongno 3-ga, there is a horse-drawn carriage stall nearby at night, which is very convenient and completely exceeded my expectations. The room type was upgraded to Oversize King bedroom, which has enough space to open two 29-inch luggages. The price is very affordable. The room is less than 150 feet, but the space design is very good and colorful. The standard room does not have a bathtub.
The hotel facilities include washing machines, dryers and a gym on the 2nd floor. The bar and front desk are both on the 16th floor, and the welcome gift allows you to drink in the bar.
My favorite is the breakfast, which is so rich, with many choices of dishes and the delicacy is beyond my expectation. There was smoked salmon, duck breast with pear, sweet rice wine, makgeolli, and dessert. The soups include truffle, miso, pumpkin, spicy pork soup... probably to sober up guests who are still hungover!
Seoul Forest on a Snowy Day
If you've visited Seoul Forest during the cherry blossom season in spring, forget about it when you see the park covered in a blanket of snow. It's a rare sight because even though it's winter, it doesn't snow every day, and heavy snowfall like this is even rarer. If you're in Korea and it snows, make sure to visit this park. The photos will turn out beautifully with the white backdrop. Many people come to play and build snowmen, but since the park is spacious, it's easy to find a spot for your photos. It's a delightful activity to enjoy.

Hongdae accommodation recommendations 💫
#JanuaryGoodPlaces2025
The hotel is located in Hongdae District in the center of Seoul, close to Hongdae Station on Subway Line 2, and opposite the airport bus, making it very convenient to go anywhere. There are many restaurants and trendy brand stores around. It is also very lively at night with many street performers.
The hotel's design style is novel and unique, relatively modernist, with a coffee shop on the first floor☕️ and a bar on the top floor.
The room is modern in design and has large floor-to-ceiling windows, making people feel extremely open and comfortable. The mattress is very comfortable. Not only is there wireless charging at the head of the bed, but facial masks are also provided. The bathroom is super bright and has both a bathtub and a toilet.
Highly recommended for those who are traveling to Seoul!

You have to try the hot dogs made with homemade sausages and bread!

The downside is that it's far from the station, but it's worth going!

\5 Must-Try Foods at Gwangjang Market/
This time, I'm randomly introducing some restaurants and foods that I was impressed with at Gwangjang Market◎
Kwabaegi and hotteok are now standard◎
Kwabaegi are rice flour donuts that are very chewy!
Hotteok has been around for a long time, but it's blissful to watch it being cooked right in front of you and then eat it fresh✨
The tteokbokki with the fourth radish was so delicious that I'll definitely go again!

\Top 5 restaurants to eat at on your trip to Korea! /
This time, I will introduce restaurants and cafes that I ate at on my trip to Korea and definitely want to go back!
I would like to recommend them! ✨
The cafes that were delicious were "Ko-natsu Shio-dae" and "Cheese Industry" on Ikseon-dong Hanok Street!
I bought bread from Ko-natsu Shio-dae because I was attracted by the exterior, but this salt bread is just delicious!
You can take it out or eat it in, so if you just want to eat bread, I recommend takeout◎
Cheese Industry is a cafe that cheese lovers can't resist
It has delicious bread and cakes.
The Basque cheesecake was just delicious, so I recommend you go◎
DOTORI GARDEN is a trendy cafe that has delicious Greek yogurt and bread.
The Dakgalbi shop is famous and there is always a line. It's so delicious that you'll eat too much. .
Yokki Tteokbokki has several branches in Japan, and is a restaurant that Korean YouTubers often eat at for mukbang! I was so happy that my wish came true and I was able to eat it. .
As expected, the danmyeon and bunmoja were delicious 💖

💞Recommendation: Seongsu-dong is more crowded on weekends. Because of the crowd, there are various events and pop-up stores every weekend. Many times there are promotions and holiday discounts, and sometimes free coupons and samples are given away. Don't miss out🌟🌟. You can check out different niche design brand stores🙌🏻. Supporting niche brands means you won't have the same outfit as everyone else. There are also many cafes nearby where you can take photos📸, but if you want to chill at a cafe, you might need to go early as it's hard to find a seat on weekends. There are also many different styles of photo booths🎞️🎞️, and the prices are reasonable.

Outside Mangwon Market, there is a famous bakery called Ugly Bakery 🥯 that sells various types of bread. If you are interested, go early as there might be a queue. 🌅At dusk, you can take away snacks and walk to Hangang Park to chill with friends over the weekend🌟🌟.
