This store, converted from an old school building with a history of over a hundred years, exudes a strong Taisho era style. Unlike other Blue Bottle stores with modern designs, this one is both retro and elegant, with bright and clean windows, giving it a unique charm. The Kiyamachi store is Blue Bottle's third store in Kyoto. The first store is the famous Nanzenji store, and the second one is the Rokkaku store in the bustling downtown area. The interior space is divided into two areas. The first area you see is the merchandise sales area, which is well-stocked. I bought the classic pair of cups. Moving forward, there is the ordering and dining area, with a warm yellow tone complemented by fresh green plants, creating a very comfortable atmosphere. One of the biggest features of the Kiyamachi store is the large artificial lawn outside the hotel. You can chill out by taking your order to the lawn, sit down, and enjoy it while chatting and admiring the bustling Takasegawa street view. It's very relaxing and highly recommended. Although the exterior and interior have been renovated, it still retains the style of the old school building and a large lawn area for people to relax. It is very chill, especially since there is Blue Bottle Coffee in the store. It is definitely a favorite of literary and artistic tourists. You can buy a cup of coffee, sit on the lawn and chat, watching the tourists coming and going on Gaolai River in front. It is super comfortable! The old school building of Licheng Primary School is a classical Baroque building. After renovation, it was combined with modern architectural techniques and is very beautiful and tasteful. The hotel inside, The Gate Hotel, has a double-arched high lobby. Although it is not high, you can overlook the Takaraigawa and Kamogawa rivers. Staying here must be very elegant and leisurely. It is quite comfortable to stroll along the Takaragi River. Both sides are planted with cherry blossoms. It must be very beautiful to visit during the flower season. In addition to the hotel, there are also restaurants, cafes, and other shops where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll on the premises. The hotel's front desk is on the top floor, the 8th floor. From the front desk space, you can enjoy a view of the eastern part of Kyoto. There is a lounge for guests only on the 3rd floor, where you can enjoy hourly services (alcohol is also served), and at night, a fire is lit and you can enjoy roasting marshmallows. Tachinomi Momiji Momiji is a great place for a quick drink. The turnover is fast and it's a casual place to drop in. We ordered two highballs each and snacks that we could make quickly, and they came out in about 30 seconds lol The raw whitebait was very delicious. It's close to Gion-Shijo Station and Kawaramachi Station, so it's a great place to pop in when you have some free time before a meeting. I chose to stay here for the last three days of my trip to Kyoto because the location is very good. It's less than a 5-minute walk to Takashimaya shopping, 3 minutes to stroll along the Kamo River, and there's a Blue Bottle Coffee right downstairs, so you can get a cup every day without having to queue. The hotel's Japanese breakfast is limited to 30 servings per day, first-come-first-served, and cannot be reserved. Honestly, the taste is really nothing to write home about; it's all cold, not as good as the Eggs Benedict and French toast from the Western breakfast, and the buffet items are also quite good. If you arrive early, be sure to get a room with a mountain view. We wanted to switch to a mountain view room the next day and had to pay extra. Also, you must reserve the hotel's bicycles in advance, otherwise, you'll end up like me, foolishly asking only to find out that they're not available for just anyone to ride. This was also not communicated by the hotel beforehand. The front desk's English is not very good, making communication difficult. Overall, the value for money is very high, except for the lack of hot springs and soaking pools, everything else is good. The rooms are also big enough to fit three suitcases without any pressure, recommended.

Transportation: 500 meters from the subway, Gion Shopping Street & Takashimaya Nearby: There is a large lawn at the entrance, and bule bottle is on the first floor. The 8th floor is a bar, where you can go to Nishiki Market, Kyoto Katsugyu Main Store, and Kamogawa Very convenient. Bonus: You can also borrow bicycles from the hotel for free and ride on the Kamo River. It’s so chill! I really want to stay a few more days!

Because I stayed at the Cross Hotel Kyoto for the first 6 days, their hotel is in a very good location, the room is much smaller than here, but the point is that there is a gym, an all-you-can-drink minibar, and a campfire at night, which is very romantic. Blue Bottle is downstairs, so you don't have to walk far to get coffee, you can go there at 9 o'clock. It is a newly opened hotel that renovated a historic primary school become the main entry of the hotel. This is a great architectural project and really like Kyoto.
