[2024 Singapore Stay] Travel Guide for The Fullerton Hotel Singapore (Updated Nov)
Exploring the Fullerton Building, Cavenagh Bridge, and Victoria Theatre
#europeanarchitecture
Expanding on the European architecture in these landmarks gives a deeper insight into Singapore's rich colonial history.
The Fullerton Building's neoclassical style is a prime example of British architectural influence in the early 20th century. With its massive Doric columns and intricate detailing on the facade, it stands as a symbol of power and prestige from its time as the General Post Office. Inside, the building has been restored and transformed into a luxury hotel, but you can still see the historical touches, like the grand staircases and the high, ornate ceilings.
Cavenagh Bridge, which spans the Singapore River, is a rare piece of history. It’s the only suspension bridge from Singapore’s colonial era that’s still in its original form. The bridge’s elegant cast-iron design contrasts with the towering modern buildings surrounding it today. Its Victorian-style lamp posts and decorative railings add a European touch to the otherwise busy cityscape, making it feel like you’re stepping back in time when you cross it.
Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall have an even more striking European design. Originally two separate buildings—the town hall and the theatre—it was unified in the early 1900s with the addition of the iconic clock tower, which has become a landmark in itself.
Together, these buildings offer a glimpse of Singapore’s colonial past while standing tall in the midst of the city’s modern skyline.

Just back from Singapore~ Experience sharing! You must stay at these three amazing luxury hotels in the city center
Singapore, as one of the safest countries in the world, is a perfect choice whether you're on a family trip, a romantic getaway, or traveling solo! It's a globally renowned garden city~ The streets are lined with lush green trees, and the roads are clean and tidy, almost free of litter. Walking around the city here lifts your spirits~ And Singapore is really great for taking kids out! Just Changi Airport alone hides 4 children's playgrounds, as well as a 24-hour free cinema, giant slides, exploration mazes, and the Sky Net... Not to mention Universal Studios, the Zoo, Gardens by the Bay, Sentosa Island... Both adults and children can have a great time, and now with visa-free travel, it's even more convenient! I just came back from Singapore last month~ Sharing three city center luxury hotels you can't miss!
👍 Highly recommended:
Raffles Hotel Singapore The Raffles Hotel, which opened in 1887, is the world's first Raffles Hotel. With 137 years of glorious history, it is one of the few remaining 19th-century luxury hotels in the world and is the best hotel in Singapore! The hotel is a model of neo-Renaissance architecture, with a Victorian style~ High ceilings and the ubiquitous verandas and palm trees~ give the hotel a strong tropical atmosphere! I stayed in a Palm Court Suite, and the interior designer was particularly inspired by the furniture of the British management period. The white buildings and rooms, contrasted with the black furniture~ The renovated Raffles Hotel has blended the past with the new era, making the entire stay even more enchanting!
👍 Highly recommended:
The Fullerton Hotel Singapore Traveling with my parents to Singapore, we chose The Fullerton Hotel for our last stop. The hotel was originally built in 1928 as a post office building and is currently part of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts, which is the second-largest hotel group in the world. It is also one of the three must-stay historical buildings on my Singapore list, the other two being Raffles and Capella~ These three hotel brands were all born in Singapore. We booked two loft suites~ with an excellent location by Marina Bay, including private terraces facing the Marina Bay Sands and the Ferris wheel. At night, you can enjoy the most stunning night view of Marina Bay from your own terrace. The design and layout of the rooms are also very nice~ In the bathroom, the shower, bathtub, and toilet are all separate. The amenities are from the French brand BALMAIN, with a light cream scent, and there's even a sleep spray by the bed, which is very effective for aiding sleep~ It's really unexpected to find such a low-key luxury existence in such a prime location at Marina Bay!
👍 Highly recommended:
Mandarin Oriental, Singapore You definitely shouldn't miss the Mandarin Oriental when you're in Singapore! After being closed for half a year for renovations, the new Mandarin Oriental reopened last September~ Of course, I couldn't miss the opportunity to experience the unique charm of the Lion City here! The Mandarin Oriental, Singapore is also the only luxury hotel in Singapore that has received the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star rating for 12 consecutive years! The newly renovated Mandarin Oriental, Singapore's classic interior design has been refreshed, with colors and inspiration drawn from Peranakan-style architecture, black and white houses, and the iconic Singaporean elements like the Frangipani trees! Every corner of the hotel tells a story, from Singapore's lush landscapes to the intricate details of traditional shophouses~ The hotel's newly refreshed facade also harmoniously blends the city-state's unique natural scenery, cultural heritage, and architectural traditions. The hotel's public spaces are very relaxed and comfortable~ Stepping into the newly refreshed lobby, filled with natural light and bright colors, feels like entering a tranquil oasis~ The magnificent Chihuly orchid crystal ball is a tribute to Singapore's national flower. The transformed Club Lounge HAUS 65 provides a refined social space with a fresh green ambiance~ The bright and rich colors are so photogenic!

Beautiful Lobby

The Fullerton lobby is located at the raffles place station. The hotel lobby is very grand. There are many people around the hotel area. The cute teddy bears couple is something that children would like to see and hug when they reach the hotel lobby. The lobby lounge is cosy and comfortable. You can order food at their lobby lounge .The hotel provides excellent service and delicious food to the guests too. If you are looking for a comfortable stay here, you should consider the Fullerton hotel here.

We booked a heritage room and the room is very spacious with about 40sqm. It comes with a bath tub which you can have a good soak after a day.
You can also go for a swim at the pool. The pool overlooks the CBD area of Singapore which is pretty nice.
The breakfast is served at the Town restaurant which comes with all the local dishes like laksa, nasi lemak.

[Explore SG] Staycation: Fullerton Hotel
Staying in Fullerton Hotel for my birthday celebration was a luxury experience. Other than the gorgeous view from the balcony, I was surprised with a birthday cake and a personal note, which was a lovely touch. I was eager to soak myself in the spacious bathtub, but first, food!
Took a stroll over to Marina Bay Sands and dined at Bread Street Kitchen - one of my favourite restaurants because of their bread basket (no longer complimentary, alas).
As we returned to explore the hotel a little more, we stumbled upon a stairway leading us to a hidden balcony, where we had the direct view of the magnificent Marina Bay Sands with a Super Moon peeking out to say hi! What a night. 😍
We took a trip down memory lane in a small gallery within the hotel, filled with nostalgic black and white photographs and videos describing its glorious history - including the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew’s infamous speech held right in front of the hotel.
It was such a pleasure (and honour) to stay in this historical building where great things happen.

The Fullerton Hotel Singapore

I was fortunate to have the opportunity to stay in Fullerton Hotel a while ago, as part of a trip.com promotion. It is a heritage hotel that happens to also be a National Monument, formerly home to Singapore’s General Post Office, the Exchange, Chamber of Commerce, and the prestigious Singapore Club.
I booked the Courtyard Room but was upgraded to a Heritage room on the 7th floor with the balcony overlooking the Fullerton Bay Hotel. I spent the dining credits for breakfast, afternoon tea in the hotel room and also some in-room tidbits and wine in the evening.

We had a great meal at the Fullerton straits resturant. As a beef meat lover, my hubby's favorite will have to be the tomato beef ball. He told me the beef was very juicy. No wonder he keeps taking more of the meat ball. My favorite will have to be the pork dumpling. We only get to eat dumplings during the festive season. Now I can share it with my husband. They have used the blue peas flower for the dumpling. I love the color of it. The cakes were nice too. We loved the ambiance and the dishes served to us. We will be coming back again in the future.

Downtown Singapore in a well spent weekend
#singapore
Downtown Singapore is well connected between various spots, where one can start their journey at Bencoolen/Bras Basah Area, to City Hall, Marina Bay, Clarke Quay etc. There are many iconic buildings where one can take stunningly beautiful pictures such as The National Art Gallery, Fullerton Hotel, Victoria Theatre, Marina Bay Sands, CHIJMES, School of the Arts etc. Be it a tourist or locals it is worthwhile to engage in a walking trip to enjoy the architectures with different styles around the city, understand the history behind them and admiring the layouts and decorations. This I believe is the best way to understand Singapore, The City of Lion.

Cosy infinity pool in town
Location: The Fullerton Hotel, at level 2.
A rectangular shaped pool which has ample seats by the pool for people to sun tan/relax. You can enjoy the views of the high rise landscapes in the city centre yet be in a place that is a colonial/heritage building. It can be said to be the best of both worlds. Not forgetting the power bubble jets by the side of the pool for swimmers to enjoy .

Fullerton Hotel At It's Best
I had the best family staycation at the Fullerton Singapore hotel. The hotel is posh, well kept and clean. The hotel itself is also rich in history and I love the architecture of it.
As a family with 2 kids, I was impressed with how baby friendly the hotel was. It has most of the baby amenities that I need, which means I don't have to bring alot of things for my kids and I can pack light. There's kids soap and shampoo, milk bottles detergent and sterilizer, baby high chair for dining, etc. We were staying in the Premier courtyard room and it was spacious and beds were comfortable. It can accommodate an extra bed even. The kids were extremely elated that the toilet is equipped with a bath tub and had fun soaking in it. The hotel's swimming pool was heated and we went for a night swim with the kids.
For meals, we ordered in room dining and food was delicious. There's even children's meal options so we don't have to worry what the kids eat. All in all, we love fullerton and it's really the best!
