Can always get recommendations from staff. Rooms are spacious but towards the dated side, it has its allure. Needless to say the private beach with its connection to the heart of things along Cenang beach, water sports makes its location second to none. Food variety is top notch, and above average taste. Wouldn't need to think twice to opt for Casa given the overall draw of this stay in Langkawi.

Or you may request for airport transfer based on vehicle rental you wish to ride / private chauffeur service. Attractions - The Datai Langkawi have few attraction such as private beach with soft, grey sand facing the Andaman sea. Besides that they have private Spa, cooking class or nature experiences with tour guide. Hotels - The hotel resort is cozy. Surrounded by stunning views of an ancient rainforest. Me booked a premium room which inclusive a Binoculars. Such a perfect moment to relax and enjoy watching the wild animals from my room. Room size is pretty big and nice. They have complimentary mini bar also. Beside that, there are two pools (1 adult pools and 1 family with kids pool) Food & Restaurants - The hotel has 4 restaurants on site. Me did try the authentic Thai cuisine and The Beach Club. I do love their Thai cuisine more. The other 2 restaurant are The Dining Room & Gulai House which is not bad either. nice place to chill, beautiful, large & clean. Bathroom were large and clean. Staff very nice. Guest appreciated the friendly, professional staff. Guests like the hotel management, reception and housekeeping. From the moment we entered the hotel lobby, we were impressed. The interior decor was luxurious yet warm and inviting. The family room that we booked was spacious and clean with comfortable double beds and linens. The room was overlooking the ocean which had a fabulous view. There is a kettle, a small fridge and a large TV which we loved. The bathroom was nicely decorated with unique tiles. They provided plush towels and top of the line toiletry sets which they would replace every day.

There are free nature walks to participate in daily, do sign up in advance. We spotted colugos when we were there! Guests could also borrow snorkel, stand up paddle or kayak for free to have fun in their rather calm Datai bay, exclusive to in house guests only. There is also a gym, 2 pools, spa available. Excursions can be arranged with the concierge, additional charge applies. Breakfast is served in buffet style which leans more towards healthy & organic local food, notwithstanding that pastries are equivalently good! By the beach, guests can take in the views of the dreamy bay while being pampered by their staff serving you fruit skewers, bringing ice cold water and even ice cream! Highlights Huge room with nice balcony and bathtub, jungle villa & beach villa would be even better as they are more spacious and comes with private pool though much more expensive! This marks my second visit, after a solo trip in March 2012. The resort continues to be impeccably maintained, offering an enchanting "rainforest resort" experience. It features numerous excursions led by expert guides such as Dev, Barry, and Habiba, who are dedicated and well-versed in rainforest lore. Despite rainy season marking this visit, leaving one of our four nights as a rainout, the remaining days were brimming with activities that my son and I relished. Meanwhile, my wife found joy in using the gym and exploring the resort grounds. Overall, it's a fantastic experience, deserving at least a 3-4 night stay to truly savor the amenities.

Yet, The Datai Langkawi consistently finds its place among my elite three locales, so much so that my husband and I have visited five times and foresee many more visits. The enchantment of The Datai is rooted in its exceptional setting: a vibrant, ancient rainforest seamlessly blending with a spotless, powdery beach. This resort is the only one I know where these ecosystems coexist with such ease, offering an ambiance that is both grounding and soul-enriching, while being truly unmatched. We typically opt for the beach villas, which are opulent, but on this trip, we chose the rainforest pool villas. Although the beach villas remain our preferred choice because of their facilities and butler service, the rainforest pool villa provided a uniquely immersive nature experience—swimming in a heated private pool amidst lush foliage felt like being in a secluded haven. It was incredibly tranquil and beautiful, ideal for nature enthusiasts. In future visits, I envision commencing with a night or two in the rainforest pool villas before transitioning to the beach villas for the remainder of our stay. The service at The Datai surpasses impeccable—it's warm, intuitive, and sincerely heartwarming. You feel at home, yet pampered and lavishly cared for. Special kudos to Jessica, Wendy, and Wenzel for perpetually making us feel welcome, to our butler Shahkim, and to Mustafa, Shaun at The Gulai House, Zakir at the pool, Tony, Yassin, and numerous others whose names I sadly overlooked—every interaction was gracious, considerate, and genuine. Dining at The Gulai House is a distinct experience—the flavors are outstanding, and the ambiance is intimate and atmospheric. The spa, tucked away deep in the rainforest by a flowing river, ranks among the finest I've encountered anywhere globally. In essence, The Datai isn't merely a luxury resort—it's a rare and extraordinary destination that proudly stands among the world's elite.

The Datai Langkawi raised the standard for us. From the moment we arrived, we sensed something unique. The setting among the jungle and beach is awe-inspiring and teeming with wildlife. We saw dusky leaf monkeys and hornbills daily. Waking up to forest noises and the gentle waterfall was truly magical. Service was outstanding; the staff were friendly and attentive, especially during breakfast where they assisted our children in choosing their meals. Despite the five-star luxury, the atmosphere remained relaxing and unpretentious, with easygoing guests and little sign of showiness. The food was exceptional, ranking among the best we've had, even compared to other top eateries. Rooms, pools, and all facilities were spotless. Our children adored the unusual nature activities, which went above and beyond a typical kids' club. There are countless activities for families such as nature walks and kayak tours, or activities the kids can do on their own. The guides are friendly and very knowledgeable, providing excellent education for both kids and adults. There are also many other activities like yoga, sound healing, and more that are wonderful. I saw some comments about people not being able to book activities, but we had no issues booking anything for all 5 nights we stayed. We also appreciated the sincere focus on sustainability; it's clearly more than just a slogan. We left feeling revitalized and closer as a family, and I was genuinely emotional when checking out. Favorable 1: It's not crowded, the price is good, and the distance is convenient. You can get there via Kuala Lumpur or Singapore, and there seems to be a direct flight from Guangzhou. Flights and hotels here aren't as outrageous as on popular islands during holidays. Getting an e-visa is also very convenient. Favorable 2: There's a wide selection of hotels, including Datai, Ritz, Four Seasons, and St. Regis. Since we only stayed for three nights, we stayed at the Ritz and St. Regis, and I personally think the Ritz was superior! I'd like to try the other two next time. Favorable 3: The food is delicious and affordable. We feasted on tiger prawns and giant blue dragonfish, all bigger than our hands, and four dishes cost only a little over 100 RMB per person! I highly recommend boat restaurants on the west coast, and Wonderland on the east coast. The salted egg yolk and Nyonya flavors are both incredibly delicious. The prices and quality of the food far surpass those found on Thai islands. Favorite #4: Stunning sunsets every day! Even if you're not staying at the hotel, the two sunset bars at the Ritz and St. Regis are both worth visiting. /
