Shaanxi Flavors at Qin Ji Roujiamo – Crispy Roujiamo & Hearty Noodles
#favouriteitinerary Qin Ji Roujiamo has become a popular spot in Singapore for authentic Shaanxi street food, and its outlet at The Clementi Mall is no exception. Known for its signature roujiamo, often called the "Chinese hamburger," Qin Ji also offers a variety of hearty noodle dishes and flavorful sides, making it a great place for a quick yet satisfying meal.
What We Tried
We went for Set A, one of their four value set meals, which includes:
- Sour & spicy potato noodles with mixed pork – A comforting bowl of chewy sweet potato noodles in a tangy, spicy broth with slices of tender pork. The broth had a great balance of heat and sourness, making it incredibly addictive.
- Qinji pork roujiamo – Their signature crispy-yet-fluffy flatbread stuffed with slow-braised pork. The pork was well-seasoned, tender, and full of rich, savory flavors, while the bread had a perfect golden crust.
- Soybean milk – A smooth, lightly sweet drink that balanced the spiciness of the noodles.
We also tried the pickled cabbage fish with rice noodles, which featured tender fish slices in a bold and tangy suan cai broth. The pickled cabbage gave the dish a nice depth of flavor, making it both comforting and appetizing.
Other Must-Try Dishes
Apart from the classic Qinji pork roujiamo, they offer a variety of flavors, including cumin pork with a smoky, aromatic spice, chicken for a lighter alternative, black pepper beef with a bold peppery kick, and a healthy vegetable option for a meat-free choice.
Their noodle selection is also worth exploring, with dishes like cold noodle skin, a refreshing dish made with handmade wheat noodles tossed in a fragrant, nutty, and slightly tangy sauce. They also have tomato soup rice noodles, which offer a lighter yet flavorful broth.
For sides, they serve crispy pork, dried beancurd skin, and more, making it easy to customize your meal.
With multiple outlets across Singapore, Qin Ji Roujiamo is a great spot to enjoy authentic northern Chinese street food. Whether you’re craving a crispy, flavor-packed roujiamo or a bowl of slurp-worthy noodles, there’s something for everyone.
