[2024 Phitsanulok Stay] Travel Guide for The 8 Factory Hotel (Updated Nov)
Only 1% of travelers to Thailand visit the lesser-known city of Phitsanulok.
After arriving in Thailand from Cambodia, I only stayed in Bangkok for a day because it was close to the Loy Krathong Festival. I then hurried to Phitsanulok, where I stayed for a day before heading to Sukhothai. Let me share a little about this lesser-known city, Phitsanulok.
.
Phitsanulok is one of Thailand's ancient capitals, meaning "Vishnu's Paradise." It is an important city in the northern central plains, and the historical Sukhothai Kingdom refers to this place. The city is not very big, and there are not many attractions. On the first night I arrived, I walked along the river. There were basically no tourists, and the shops closed early. However, there is a lively night market. There is an open-air massage place by the river, and the price is 130 baht (about CNY 25), which is the cheapest in Thailand. But most of the masseuses are older, so I decided not to go.
.
🌈Phitsanulok is famous for the Phra Phuttha Chinnarat, known as the most beautiful Buddha in Thailand. This Buddha was built during the Sukhothai period (1364) and holds a very high status in the hearts of Thai people. It is also one of the seven major temples in Thailand. It is said that people who want to succeed in their careers will come to Wat Phra Si Ratana Mahathat to pray to the Phra Phuttha Chinnarat.
.
If you want to visit other attractions, you can go to Sukhothai. The Sukhothai Kingdom was the capital of Thailand from the 13th to the 15th century. It is also a lesser-known city in Thailand, and its entire history is the beginning of Thai history.

📍The 8 Factory Hotel: This hostel is pretty good overall, about a 15-minute walk to the city center. The 6-bed dormitory has enough air conditioning and lockers (no keys). There is a laundry shop next to the hostel, and washing and drying costs about 60 baht.
