Tianshou An is one of the important temples in the history of Nanchan Temple. It was built in memory of the founder of Nanchan Temple, the founder of the Ming Dynasty, the monk. There is a geometrically designed stone path at the entrance. The elegant garden, many people sit here and watch, the south behind the hall is a swimming pool garden, there are two pool spring landscapes of different sizes, the maple branches hanging down to the pool, the reflection in the pool The fallen maples on the water surface, and the eyes full of fallen flowers are colorful.

Tenjuan Temple is a small temple of Japanese Zen Rinzai Buddhism, which was built in 1337, located at the foot of Higashiyama mountains in the east of Kyoto Prefecture and is subsidiary to the neighboring Nanzenji Temple. Its famous dry garden is enhanced in autumn by the reddening leaves of Japanese maple trees. Tenjuan Temple is particularly crowded in autumn, as is the whole eastern part of the former imperial capital during the koyo foliage season. however, the temple is a wonderful retreat for tranquility and refreshment during the rest of the year, I recommend not to miss this timeless Zen halt.

Kyoto Tenjuan Temple: A Serene Sanctuary Where Zen and Autumn Leaves Intertwine
Tenjuan Temple, located within Kyoto's Tofukuji, is a Zen temple renowned for its unique Zen atmosphere and beautiful garden scenery. It is not only a place for spiritual practice but also an ideal spot to enjoy tranquility and natural beauty. Whether you are a fan of Zen culture or seeking a quiet place for your soul, Tenjuan Temple offers a profound experience.
1. Zen Architecture and Minimalist Aesthetics
The architecture of Tenjuan Temple showcases the simplicity and elegance characteristic of Zen. From the wooden structures to the interior design, one can feel the Zen culture's ultimate pursuit of simplicity and nature. Especially the Zen rooms within the temple, which are tranquil and simple, naturally slow down one's pace, allowing them to immerse in the serene atmosphere.
2. Seasonal Garden Changes
The garden scenery of Tenjuan Temple varies with each season. In spring, cherry blossoms bloom, turning the garden into a pink ocean; in summer, the lush greenery and blooming lotus flowers in the pond create a vibrant scene; in autumn, the fiery red leaves become the most attractive sight for visitors; in winter, the snow-covered landscape presents a pristine picture. Each season makes one want to linger longer and savor the beauty.
3. A Haven for the Soul
Compared to the hustle and bustle of other famous Kyoto attractions, Tenjuan Temple maintains a rare tranquility. Visitors can quietly stroll, meditate, or observe the garden in peace. It is an ideal place to find inner peace and inspiration, and the best choice for those who want to slow down their pace of life.
In summary, Tenjuan Temple is not only a representative of Kyoto's Zen culture but also a great place to explore the soul and enjoy nature. If you long for a quiet spiritual journey, Tenjuan Temple is undoubtedly a must-visit.

Nanzen-ji Temple is the most relaxing and effortless place to enjoy the red leaves in Kyoto.
When it comes to enjoying the red leaves in Kyoto in autumn, the Internet is full of popular scenic spots such as Rurikoin Temple. Rurikoin Temple is indeed beautiful, but it is far from the city center, inconvenient to reach, expensive, and crowded.
In fact, you don't have to go to Rurikoin Temple, which is so far away. Nanzen-ji Temple in Kyoto is very beautiful.
Nanzen-ji Temple itself does not require a ticket, but some areas require a separate ticket, but the free area is worth visiting.
📷Popular photo spots
1️⃣The gate after entering
The gate is very grand, and there are beautiful views in front of and behind the gate. If you want to go upstairs, you need to buy a separate ticket.
2️⃣Tenju-an Temple
The view from the main hall of Tenju-an Temple is very beautiful and is not inferior to the window view of Rurikoin Temple.
3️⃣Suirokaku Aqueduct
The aqueduct is above, and the perspective of the arch below the aqueduct is very beautiful. It is a popular location for many Japanese TV dramas.
4️⃣Blue Bottle Coffee
Blue Bottle Coffee is not in Nanzen-ji Temple, but not far from the gate. It is not far to walk, and the environment is very good, but there are many people.

Not inferior to Rurikoin, the red leaves of Tenjuan are also amazing! You can create a blockbuster in minutes!

The red leaves of Tenjuan Temple are at least in the top two in Kyoto. The temple is located in Nanzenji Temple in Kyoto. The scenery is so beautiful that I didn't want to leave after taking so many photos. My feet seemed to be welded. There are fewer people here, so even a novice photographer can take photos in minutes.
Opening hours: 9:00~16:30 daily Ticket price: 500 yen

I only knew that the famous temple in Nanchan Temple was Yongguantang. I made a trip to a friend during the trip. She and I strongly recommend Tianzhao, saying that the little garden is full of places to watch, so that day, although Tiangong is not beautiful, Going to visit.
may be a little hard to find, in fact, it is diagonally opposite the three-door ticket, a small door. The current stipulations were not retained in the same year. In 1447, Tian was ruined by a fire at Nanchan Temple, but even without a fire, the hall could not be spared from the 1467-1477 war. Many temples destroyed by the war were rebuilt at the end of the 16th century, when Japan was politically stable for some time. The day was authorized to be rebuilt in 1602.
