A scenic mountain in the urban area of Songkhla, on the top of the hill, you can look at the urban area of Songkhla and the sea not far away. The hill is not big, the vegetation is lush, the environment is very quiet, and there are temples in the mountain.

📝: Tangkuan Hill, a 360-degree viewpoint of Mueang Songkhla District, is best visited in the morning or afternoon for a great atmosphere. For those who enjoy hiking, walk around to the back. There are stairs and a steep slope to climb to the top, which can be quite tiring. Alternatively, you can take the elevator (there's a fee). Also, there are a lot of monkeys up there, so be careful, especially if you have food and water with you.

Khao Tang Kuan, Songkhla Province
⛰️It is a high hill, about 2,000 feet above sea level. From the top of the mountain, you can see the view of Songkhla city all around. On the top of the mountain is the Phra That Chedi, a pair of Songkhla cities, built during the Nakhon Si Thammarat Kingdom. It is an art form from the Dvaravati period.
🙏The chedi is made of brick and mortar in the shape of a bell. It is assumed to be an ancient chedi that has been around for a long time, but there is no clear evidence of its origin. The Chedi Luang is a pair of chedis of Songkhla city, so it has been renovated and repaired all the time.

Songkhla,
Songkhla, one of the southern provinces, boasts a wealth of attractions, just like anywhere else. One of these is Khao Tang Kuan, a must-see for everyone. It's a must-visit spot for stunning city views. Now, a cafe has opened called "Nirvana Cafe," offering not only stunning views but also delicious treats, including drinks and baked goods.

He is a nuisance.
Khao Tang Kuan, the most beautiful viewpoint, see Songkhla city and the sea 360 degrees, as far as the eye can see.
The service fee is 30 baht per person.
Or if anyone wants to walk, you can walk up the Naga stairs. But when I saw the monkeys, I was scared, so I changed my plan. The monkeys here have bad behaviors, very different from the monkeys at Wat Tham Suea Krabi. When the car stops, they come in looking for food. Who would dare to go down?

Come find the monkey that's annoying.
Khao Tang Kuan is a high mountain where you can see both the sea and the city.
On top of the mountain, there is a chedi, a lighthouse, and a red temple.
Here, on the ground below, there are many monkeys. You can feed them, but be careful of the treasures you are holding. They are quite fierce and can steal everything.
To go up, you can buy a ticket to take the cable car up. It is not tiring.

🌴⛵ Songkhla Travel Review: Koh Nu - Koh Maew & Khao Tang Kuan 🌅
This morning, we started by taking a boat from Laem Son On Pier to "Koh Nu - Koh Maew," two small islands in the Songkhla Sea, famous for their legendary bond between a cat, mouse, and dog, which eventually became islands in the middle of the ocean. 🐱🐭🐶
The boat sailed through the crystal-clear blue waters, cool breezes, and views of the mountains and Songkhla City stretching along the shore. It was truly a moment of natural immersion. 🌊🍃
Once back ashore, we stopped at "Khao Tang Kuan," a glass-enclosed elevator for a panoramic view, or you can walk up to the top for a different kind of atmosphere. At the top, you'll find an ancient pagoda and a 360-degree panoramic view of Songkhla City, clearly overlooking Songkhla Lake and Laem Son On. 🏞️✨
📸 Highlights:
- Take a boat ride around the island to admire the natural beauty.
- Unparalleled views of Songkhla's sea.
- A pagoda atop the top of Mount Tang Kuan.
- The legend of the adorable Koh Nu and Koh Maew.
🧡 Perfect for nature lovers, photographers, and those who appreciate local stories.

Khao Tang Kuan, Songkhla
📍 Khao Tang Kuan, Songkhla: A million-dollar view without a tiring climb! If you visit Songkhla and don't climb Khao Tang Kuan, you're missing out! This is one of the most beautiful viewpoints in Songkhla. 🏞️
At the top of the mountain, a dazzling golden pagoda towers over the city, surrounded by lush greenery and sweeping views of the Songkhla Sea. 🌊✨ You can either take the elevator or walk up, depending on your preference.
Besides the stunning views, you'll also find friendly little macaques welcoming visitors (but be careful with your food! 😄). Other landmarks like Samila Beach and the Mermaid Statue are within walking distance, making it a breeze to reach.
📸 Evening photos from above are the best! The golden light reflecting off the pagoda and the sea—make sure you get Instagram-worthy shots without any editing.

Day Trip from Hat Yai to Khao Tangkuan
A short trip from Hat Yai brings you to Khao Tangkuan, a famous hilltop viewpoint in Songkhla. Standing at the top, you’ll be rewarded with sweeping views of Songkhla Lake, Samila Beach, and the charming old town below. The highlight here is the white pagoda perched on the hill, a sacred landmark for locals.
Visitors can either climb the stairs or take a short lift ride to the summit. Once at the top, the cool breeze and peaceful atmosphere make it a relaxing escape. The area is also home to playful monkeys, adding a fun touch to the visit—just be cautious with your belongings!
For Hat Yai travelers, Khao Tangkuan is an ideal half-day trip. It takes about 40 minutes by car, and you can easily combine it with visits to Songkhla Old Town or Samila Beach. With its combination of natural beauty and cultural heritage, Khao Tangkuan is one of the best viewpoints in southern Thailand.

Songkhla admires the city of two waters.
Songkhla, here we go!
This trip to Songkhla Province started with an unexpected mishap. I woke up to find I had worn my shirt inside out. But that's okay! This mistake allowed me to start the trip with a laugh and prepare for the fun to come!
Day 1: Exploring Hat Yai Old Town...Encountering food until I forgot my way back
As soon as I touched down in Songkhla, we headed straight to Kim Yong Market! It's not just about souvenirs and dried goods, but also about a dizzying array of delicious food! We ate everything from piping hot fried pork sausage to overflowing steamed dumplings. And the highlight was trying the Lod Chong Wat Chedi, so sweet and creamy I had to ask for more! While walking around, I met a kind-hearted auntie who tried to stuff me with more stuffing, almost filling me up for the next day!
Day 2: Adventure in the Land of Fish...and the Thrill of a Mermaid!
After recharging, on the second day, we headed to Laem Samila to enjoy the beautiful sea views and take photos with the Golden Mermaid, the symbol of Songkhla. Let me tell you, I was brave at first. But once we encountered the crowds, we had to wait a long time for photos. One of my friends even got scrambled for photos by kids, turning pale! But once we got the photos, all the tiredness was gone!
We continued on to a thrilling journey to Khao Tang Kuan, where we took the electric tram to enjoy a 360-degree view of Songkhla. We were constantly worried the tram might derail, but in the end, we only encountered a horde of monkeys ready to jump into our bags at any moment! This adventure taught us that courage isn't about not being afraid, but about continuing on with trembling legs!
Day 3: Returning with a rumbling stomach...not because we were hungry, but because we missed it!
Before leaving, we stopped at Songkhla Walking Street, also known as Nang Ngam Road. There's a wide selection of food and souvenirs to buy, from sticky rice and fried chicken to various fried meatballs. We packed our bags! We also visited Wat Matchimawat to pay respects to the sacred objects and make wishes. Experiencing the tranquility and faith here made us feel that Songkhla is more than just a tourist destination. But it's a city with life and spirit.
This trip to Songkhla taught me that the most enjoyable journey isn't about perfectly planning, but about letting the little things create colorful moments and memorable stories.

🐒Enjoy the view, watch monkeys, and drink coconut water in Songkhla on a budget.
The place we are going to is called “Khao Tang Kuan”, one of the most popular viewpoints of Songkhla people. When you come here, you will see many monkeys and 2-3 coconut juice carts with crocodile dolls to prevent monkeys from stealing your food (I just found out that the dolls can repel monkeys 😂). The fresh coconut juice here is very reasonably priced at 30 baht per piece. You get to drink coconut juice and also get a sea view. It’s really worth the price. Recharge before going up to take pictures of the view from above. After that, we can buy tickets for 60 baht per person. There is a free elevator service to pick up and drop off customers. The pool is amazing. When you reach the top, you will see a 360-degree view of the surrounding sea and the city view to walk around. It is worth it for a small budget like this. There are many photo spots and the light is beautiful. We went on a weekday, so there weren’t many people. It was very private and you could stay for an unlimited time. After you’re done, you can sit in front of the elevator and wait for the staff to come take you down. If anyone has the chance to visit Songkhla, don’t forget to stop by. ✨ The view is very beautiful 💯 The only thing to watch out for is the monkeys 🐒 #TravelPlanShare #SongkhlaVisit #KhaoTangKuan #GetDiscountsWithoutLuck

🇹🇭Songkhla Old Street Check-in Attraction-Tangkuan Hill
#2月好去地方2025
Songkhla is a small coastal town in southern Thailand. It is not big and suitable for a day trip.
Tangkuan Hill is a high observation deck on Songkhla Old Street. You can walk up the stairs (free) or buy a ticket and take the elevator to the observation deck (60 baht). This time I chose to take the elevator. The elevator has air conditioning and is very cool. After arriving at the observation deck, you can see Salami Beach to the right, and the old streets of Songkhla can be seen on the left. There is also a pagoda in the middle. Many Thais also come here to pray. If you come, try to avoid coming at noon as the sun is very hot.
There are many monkeys on the observation deck, so be careful not to bring food, as it may be snatched away by the monkeys. What is commendable is that there is a barrier-free passage from the entrance to the observation deck, making it a scenic spot suitable for the whole family.

Must visit in Songkhla for the panoramic views! When we went, the lift station opened at 9am NOT 830am as listed. Tickets are return and though prices have increased it's still affordable. The lift tracks are covered so there's no view but the lift is air conditioned, which is a godsend in the killer heat (bring umbrellas).
To find the royal pavilion, to the right side after the bell tower there's a downhill stairway flanked by gold dragons, walk down it to reach.
