Tangier's Old Town in Winter: A Hidden Gem
If you're looking for a unique winter travel destination, look no further than Tangier's Old Town. This Moroccan gem is often overlooked by tourists in favor of the country's more popular cities, but it's a hidden treasure just waiting to be explored.
In the winter months, the streets are less crowded, the temperatures are mild, and the traditional architecture is beautifully accented by the crisp winter light. As you wander through the maze of alleyways, you'll discover hidden squares, ornate doorways, and colorful tilework that's been well-preserved over the centuries.
One of the best things about visiting Tangier's Old Town in the winter is that you'll have the opportunity to experience local life without the crowds. You can stop for a nice Moroccan meal in a cozy cafe, browse the colorful souks for unique souvenirs, and even strike up a conversation with friendly locals. And if you're lucky enough to be there during a winter festival, you'll be treated to traditional music, dance, and street performances that showcase the vibrant culture of Tangier.
Of course, no visit to Tangier's Old Town would be complete without a visit to the Kasbah. This historic fortress is perched on a hilltop overlooking the sea, and it offers stunning views of the city and beyond. Inside, you'll find a small museum dedicated to Moroccan history and culture, as well as a peaceful garden where you can relax and take in the surroundings.

| The medina's ancient streets have a unique charm.
In the ancient city of Tangier in northern Morocco
With a history of over 2,000 years
It still retains many historical and cultural relics.
First of all, the climate here is pleasant all year round, and the city is surrounded by mountains and the sea
The white coastal lighthouse and colorful traditional houses complement each other
The blue sea and sky are dotted with verdant mountains
Forming a colorful landscape painting
It is also a famous port city, with Spain just across the sea
Secondly, the old city of Tangier, the medina, is simply a maze of narrow alleys.
Here, spices, honey, and nut pastries are in abundance
Dates, silver teapots for mint tea, hand-woven carpets, straw baskets, etc.
Vendors display a variety of goods.
The sound of horns and shouts, though chaotic, is full of life
The old city is now free to enter, and you can wander around and be surprised
All the way up to the top of the mountain, the scenery is beautiful
At the top of the mountain, the most famous cafe overlooks the entire old city
Especially the two art museums in the old city are also worth checking out.
Taxi: Taxis are convenient, but you need to prepare cash.
A taxi from the old city to the new city costs about 20-30 dirhams (2-3 euros).

Morocco's former international city
Tangier is one of Morocco's northern most city and as such its past and culture is deeply shaped by not only its own country but by its next door neighbor, Spain, which you literally can stare across at. Because of its strategic position, it was once perhaps one of the most international cities in Morocco and one that has left a lasting mark on this cute little city. This being said, the city is also blessed with lovely sea views.
Today, its historic center, the Medina, is a lovely maze of old narrow streets that blend Moroccan and several other international styles. The whitewashed buildings that line the historic quarter make for lovely photos and is a lovely place to spend a morning or afternoon discovering the rich past of this city.
There is also a souk which is an incredible place to see the daily lives of Moroccans. This is a more traditional part of the city that has kept it's distinct identity. You'll find plenty of markets and cafes that are interesting to visit.
The city also has a very cosmopolitan feel to it with the many hotels and malls that line the area surrounding the train station.
A wonderful city that is great to explore. You'll be rewarded with a lovely white colored historic center with various souks. Whereas if you want something more modern, there are also malls and modern hotels. #city #travel #explore #tangier #morocco

The most artistic graffiti city in Morocco, the singer of the paintings, the hh/ art city of Aishira, a mural town located 40 km from Tangier, Morocco, has an ubiquitous artistic atmosphere.
Every year in the summer, the walls of Ashila will be repainted in white, specially designed for artists from all over the world to create, so every year the graffiti will have new changes, waiting for the world to watch.
June-August, Eichra has a holiday-like excitement, they are all graffiti painting here. Look at the creation of free play, the color of the mix makes it even more gorgeous.
Ahirah is also a coastal city. After the old city, you can see the large and small ships on the sea level. The small town from the pirate base to the now fascinating tourist city makes Eichal's history rich and profound.
Sakamoto thought that the blue of Chefchaouen has already blossomed out of the sky. When I arrived at Eshila, I was able to walk through it.
Aihira white-dominated house from the north gate to the old town, will see groups of pigeons and seagulls.
The town is not very big, it will not be long before the walk. There are no special scenic spots here, but you will like it at a glance.
YIYI NOTES.
The old town of Detoan is built on a hillside, layered and patchwork. The simple style inherits the architectural style of the Mediterranean and retains the characteristics of the Arab architecture. Although the city just stayed for a short time, but in me I still have a good impression in my heart.
Lunch is EL REDUCTO in the city of Detoan. The restaurant is very good. The people in Morocco are all chronic. It takes more than an hour to eat a three-course meal. The baby of the acute child must not stand it. The long time of the dish, taking pictures in the restaurant, I like this skylight, and it is a perfect match with the blue sky.
I don't like to eat Moroccan food and the small partners look for the balcony on the top floor, the view is very open, like a small fresh girl here will definitely fall in love with it.

Tangier is a historic city, one of the oldest cities in the world, built by Phoenicians in the 6th century BC. It is located in northern Morocco, across the Strait of Gibraltar from Spain. Most people in Morocco don't like to be photographed, and some of them still believe that the camera will ingest the soul. So please respect the habits of the locals. If the opponent opposes being photographed, then let go of the camera.
