We saw adorable giant pandas, majestic lions, and even fed giraffes! We loved the Children's Animal Village, where we could interact with the animals up close. Taiyuan Zoo, located in Wohushan in the northeast corner of Taiyuan City, covers an area of 79.36 hectares and is a national 4A-level scenic spot. The exhibition area is geographically divided into three major viewing areas: the large herbivore and carnivore viewing area; the bird, small and medium-sized carnivore, and omnivore viewing area; and the small and medium-sized herbivore viewing area. Each viewing area is further divided into exhibition halls according to animal species, featuring animals such as giant pandas, golden monkeys, Siberian tigers, red-crowned cranes, and white rhinoceroses. I have visited the Taiyuan zoo in February 2023. Before I go there I read some reviews and comments and some of them said that we shouldn’t go there as this place is not taking a good care of the animals there. The comment was written in 2014, so I wanted to believe that it is an outdated one and everything is better now. But still most of the animals looked sad in those cages, especially the elephants omg. But the monkeys looked okay 😅
