[2025 Taipei Attraction] Travel Guide for Taipei Zoo (Updated Feb)

I went to trip.Best to see what popular places to visit in Taipei, and saw that the Taipei Municipal Zoo ranked first among parent-child attractions. So I checked on trip.com to see if there were any tickets to buy, and finally chose a package, which cost about more than 80 yuan per person and included a zoo admission ticket, a one-day ticket for the Maokong Cable Car, and a one-way ticket for the sightseeing bus in the zoo. First, take the MRT Wenhu Line to the Zoo Station Terminal, and then take the cable car from the Zoo Station to the Maokong Terminal. It’s a really long ride. The cable car is very quiet, and it’s very comfortable to sit on. It won’t shake, and you can enjoy the view. The entire Taipei Basin. The only drawback is that the glass windows in the carriage seem to have not been cleaned for a long time, so the view feels a bit blurry. After stopping at Maokong Terminal for a while, we took the cable car back to the Zoo South Station to enter the zoo. After arriving at the animals, we first took the small train sightseeing bus up and then walked down from the top so as not to be exhausted. After getting off the bus at the station, we started to walk around the entire zoo from top to bottom. The park is very large, and the stay is about 2-3 hours. Walk slowly and look at the animals. Now you don’t need to queue up to see the animals. There are relatively few shaded areas, so be prepared to replenish water. There are many drinking fountains in the park. The planning and resting spaces in each area of ​​the garden are very comfortable. The bird garden is very large and worth seeing. There are flamingos, American wood ducks and black-necked swans. The Taipei Zoo is next to Maokong Gondola, so we visited both in one afternoon and used our easy card to enter. The zoo is very large and we spent three hours there and still did not see everything. From panda bears to ferocious African wild hyenas in Taipei zoo is a must see when you are in Taipei Taiwan. it’s easily accessed by the BR train line as it is the last stop. They also feature an incredible rainforest environment with tropical birds and fish species straight from the Amazon jungle. Most importantly, the animals seem well looked after and their enclosures are large and suitably made to match their native habitats. With a total area of 165 hectares, if you intend to visit all of the enclosures, it would take you most of the day. Specialty of this zoo is it has educational facility for the young ones. In addition it also have displayed on how people extract water from underground. There is one area where domestic animals can roam around . Can see duckling and ducks wade around in a line. I called this trained ducks . The panda I believe is the main feature . I enjoyed the greenery and free carbon. Taiwan is very supportive of recycling hence can find recycling bins every where. Note that for boxed drink. I learned that you need to flatten it every time you want to dispose.

When in Taipei Zoo, where was known as the largest zoon in Asia. There was a great variety of animals. Adminission is surprisingly cheap which costs $60 NT for Adults, with this we couldn’t complain much. A great trip for family with children. #happynewyear

Taipei Zoo is very huge with many animals from different country, it took us more than 3 hours to completely travelling around the whole Zoo. There are also variety of food inside including Mcdonalds and some local food. A train inside the Zoo can fetch you to the last station where the penguin is, we hop on to the train after visiting Panda’s house, then walk from the last station back towards the entrance/exit. Upon arriving at Maokong, I chose a teahouse to enjoy some tea. The mountain breeze and tea aroma were relaxing. In the evening, I returned to the city and went to the Xiangshan Hiking Trail. Climbing up the steps, I watched the sunset cast a golden glow on the glass exterior of Taipei 101, as if gilding the city. Day 2: A new day began with exploring Taipei's cultural landmarks. Early in the morning, I visited the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. The grand architecture and solemn atmosphere showcased Taipei's rich history. After watching the flag-raising ceremony, I strolled through the surrounding park, enjoying the view of Taipei 101, making the cultural journey complete. Next, I went to Huashan 1914 Creative Park to see a photography exhibition themed around nature and animals. Each piece in the exhibition made me rethink our relationship with nature. In the afternoon, I chose to relax in Daan Forest Park, an urban oasis. Walking through the park, listening to birdsong, and watching children run on the grass echoed the innocence of the zoo. They have a lot of pandas and koalas there ❤️❤️ They were smaller and cuter than I expected, and my heart was pounding with excitement! This might be the only place you can see koalas on a short flight from Korea! 👍👍 The entrance fee was really cheap, and you don't need to book in advance. Taipei Zoo is a popular spot when you visit Taiwan. This zoo houses animals from tiny ones to gigantic rhinoceros, elephants, or silverback gorilla, you name it.
