When my sister went, the weather was very cold. I am sensitive to the cold, so I prepared very well. Before going, we need to know the rules here. 1. Men and women are not allowed to sleep in the same tent. 2. On top, refrain from eating meat. 3. If women want to go up the pagoda, they must wear a sarong or a skirt that covers the knees only and can only go up to the first pagoda. Only men can go up to the next pagoda. We left Bangkok at night and went to Umphang in the morning. We stopped to buy some things and took a shower. Then we changed to a four-wheel drive vehicle, which took about 4 hours. At this point, I recommend finding a headscarf and covering your nose because there is a lot of dust. And the road is not very good, my butt is a bit sore. The way we pass through various Burmese villages, we will see the way of life of the villagers all the way. When we get to the top, we set up the tents first. We sleep in the temple's canteen because last week, the people who slept at the viewpoint had a strong wind that made it impossible to sleep, so we didn't take the risk. When we set up the tents, we walked to the pagoda. Don't forget to change your sarongs. The path is easy, but the stairs are a bit steep, making us out of breath. But the view up is very beautiful. We can see the mountains in 360 degrees, and even in the afternoon, there is still fog. When we come down, we go to the viewpoint. This is considered the most beautiful spot of the trip. Because in addition to the view that you can see in every direction, the air is very good. We can't take it anymore. The background here when taking pictures is the intricate mountain range. Some angles look like a foreign country. This is another trip that makes us love hiking even more. When we come back down from the viewpoint, we have lunch at the place where we set up the tents. So we traveled on to Kanchanaburi to Sangkhla Buri and stopped by Burma. At the Three Pagodas Pass, it's next to the Phaya Tong Su in Burma, making it easy for us to travel. After Sangkhla Buri, we took a van back to Kanchanaburi city and continued on to Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. On the way back, we took the train back. It was really full of flavor. It wasn't a very convenient trip. The accommodation didn't have air conditioning, but hey, it was good. We got to be with nature and live a simple life without having to struggle or compete with anything. And riding in a van up the mountain made us carsick. Especially when we got in the van from Sangkhla and went to Hua Hin, it took almost 9 hours. The way back was no different because Thai trains are not very punctual. Plus, the ride back to Bangkok took almost 5 hours. Our butts hurt, lol. But we still really like traveling. It's so charming. We get to meet new people and make new friends. The bridge in the background of the 1st and 3rd photo is known as the Sagaing Bridge, which was built by the British while we were under their rule during World War II. This bridge connects Mandalay and Sagaing City. The city has a mountain that has a lot of popular temples and pagodas with a long history! They sell english translated books there if you’re keen to learn its history. We went to this beautiful temples where a local kid drew a leaf shaped Tanakha on my mom’s face.
