Check in at Songwad, the mood is very good for the heart 💛📸
Checking in at Song Wat Road is so good! 💛📸
For those who love taking cool, classic photos, try strolling along Song Wat Road and discover that Bangkok still has some seriously cool, old corners hidden away. 🏙️📷
We visited late on a weekday, and the atmosphere was quiet and uncrowded. This road, located in the Talat Noi-Yaowarat area, is lined with old buildings from various eras, from warehouses to traditional Chinese wooden houses to Sino-Portuguese shophouses that still retain their original charm. This area exudes both mystical and raw charm, as if time had stopped in the 1960s.
It was a joy to walk around and take photos. Even the light posts, the old rust, and the tile patterns in front of each house tell a story. No need to pose too boldly. Just stand still and you'll get a film-like shot.
📍 Location: Song Wat Road, Chakkrawat Subdistrict, Samphanthawong District, Bangkok (near Wat Pathum Khongkha Temple – on the banks of the Chao Phraya River).
🚶♂️ Getting there: Very easy to get to. Take the MRT and get off at Wat Mangkon Station. Then walk for about 10-15 minutes, or take the Chao Phraya Express Boat and then a motorbike taxi/walk.
🕒 Recommended time: Morning to late morning or evening before sunset. The light is beautiful, the sun isn't too strong, and there aren't many people.
💡 What to know: This is a truly residential area. Please walk and take photos respectfully, avoid disturbing the residents.
For us, Thanon Song Wat isn't just a place for beautiful photos; it's also a place where you can see the transition between the old and the modern, living together in harmony. Walk slowly and notice the small details. You'll realize that this street is alive and breathing in its own way.
For those who enjoy simple, unadorned coolness, this is the place for you. 🎞️
