Shirahone Onsen is a representative secret hot spring in Japan with a history of more than 400 years. Once the steam rises and contacts the air, it turns white, hence the name Shirahone Onsen. It is hidden in the deep gorge of the Hida Mountains, like a paradise away from the hustle and bustle, full of natural wildness. The hot spring water here is rich in hydrogen sulfide and calcium, and the water temperature is maintained at about 42℃, which has a soothing effect on neuralgia and muscle fatigue. The primeval forest around the hot spring is lush and green, the streams are gurgling, and the magnificent scenery of the Hida Mountains is in full view. Every autumn, the mountains are covered with red leaves like a poem and a painting; when winter comes, the white snow covers this place with silver. There are more than a dozen century-old hot spring hotels in the hot spring town, and most of the open-air baths are carefully built with cypress or rocks. In the early morning, the fog and mountain mist interweave to create a hazy and dreamy atmosphere that makes people linger.
