This time, staying at Storage Homestay completely overturned my imagination of suburban Beijing homestays—it’s not just a simple upgraded farmhouse, but a magical operation that brings an art gallery into the mountains! 🏡 Aesthetic Space Transformed from an old barn in Hefangkou Village, Huairou, it retains the original wooden structure while infusing modern minimalist aesthetics. The public area features artistic installations with interlacing light and shadow, the courtyard is perfectly decorated with greenery, and even the staircase corners hide clever design details. 🛏️ Stay in a Scenic Picture Frame The room we stayed in had a window view where, when you open the curtains in the morning, the gray-green Great Wall hangs like an ink painting right outside! The toiletries are from Australian brand Appelles, and the bathtub faces the mountain view—perfect for city dwellers. Soaking in the tub while watching the sunset slowly dye the mountain ridges red—that’s what a vacation should be! Some rooms feature private soaking pools or terraces, custom brass lighting fixtures, handcrafted furniture, and Marshall sound systems. All bedding meets five-star standards, and select room types include projectors or fireplaces, creating the perfect atmosphere for winter movie nights. Suitcase-style nightstands and shelving units made from repurposed cargo racks echo the "Storage" theme. The restaurant offers complimentary traditional Beijing breakfast combinations (sugar-oil pancakes, fermented bean drink optional) or Western light meals, paired with freshly ground coffee. Main meals feature fusion cuisine (such as Hutong BBQ and secret recipe noodles with soybean paste), with ingredients sourced mainly from nearby farms. The rooftop terrace can be arranged for sunset afternoon tea or private dinners, and the kitchen is available for self-catering. Highly recommend the Loft rope net, the perfect place to lie flat over the weekend. 📍Detailed Address: Storage Time·Homestay is located in Huairou District, Hefangkou Village. 🌟Highlights: The surrounding area is quiet and tidy, with parking spaces available. During the day, you can wander around Hefangkou, where many villagers sell fruits and vegetables. The homestay offers a variety of room types including tatami rooms, bathtub garden view rooms, Loft rope net rooms, and Loft double-layer family rooms. We booked the Loft rope net for 1500+, which included breakfast for two, and the host also gave us a complimentary breakfast for a child. 👍Most Recommended: The homestay has a small courtyard where you can sit and chat leisurely. There is a rest and dining area with some tables, chairs, sofas, and books for everyone to relax. 🛏Room Facilities: The room is divided into two floors, with high ceilings that are bright and airy, and the design is simple, elegant, and chic. The rope net on the second floor really provided all our happiness. Outside the room is a small courtyard with a soaking pool, which will be perfect for soaking and playing in the water when the weather gets warmer! 🍽Dining Recommendations: About a 5-10min walk from the homestay, you can find many farmyards offering stewed dishes in iron pots, grilled rainbow trout, rice, stir-fried vegetables, pancakes, and noodles. We dined at Lao Du's Stove Fish that evening, which was tasty and offered great value for money! 🗓Itinerary Planning: There are many options within an 8-10min drive, such as Yanqi Lake, Qinglong Gorge, Baiquan Valley, and Duo Camping Site.
