[2025 Xuzhou Stay] Travel Guide for Sheraton Xuzhou Hotel (Updated Feb)

My last stop on my Sheraton tour was Xuzhou, so I decided to visit. The last time I came back was for the 100th anniversary of China University of Mining and Technology. Xuzhou has changed a lot, and there is a lot of traffic. I'm glad to see my second hometown is getting better and better. The hotel is not close to Xuzhou East or Xuzhou Railway Station. The nearest subway station is China University of Mining and Technology Wenchang. I hailed a taxi and it cost me CNY 20 to get here via the Third Ring Road. If you come from downtown, you will pass by Xuzhou Marriott Hotel on the banks of Yunlong Lake. There are many people downstairs, but Sheraton is very quiet in comparison. It is surrounded by residential areas. There is a new shopping mall across the road, and it is also very close to the Nanhu Campus of China University of Mining and Technology. Service: I received a call the day before check-in asking if I had any requests or preferences. I have stayed at 15 hotels before, including Fairfield, Renaissance, Marriott, and Courtyard, but this is the first time I have received such a call. I don't have many requests, just more water for tea. When I arrived, the staff helped me with my luggage, took it to the front desk, and then to my room. I said it was the first time I had experienced this, and the staff replied that it was their job and they should do it! Great service. The front desk upgraded my room to an executive room. It should be just below a suite, which was a nice surprise. Room upgrades are a nice bonus for solo travelers like me. Better rooms always cost more money. It makes guests feel at home. When I returned in the evening, I was given fruit and turndown service. It was a nice touch. I didn't take any photos of breakfast, but there was a wide variety of food. There were Xuzhou specialties, such as pancakes, fried dough twists, and soup. It was delicious. The newly renovated room had a faint smell, but it was not noticeable. The leather-wrapped bed had a slight smell, but it was not noticeable. My Sheraton tour ended this year, and it was a very pleasant experience. I hope the hotel can maintain this standard. The inconvenience of transportation can be completely ignored. I went downtown and vaguely remembered the directions. The restaurants I used to eat at are still there, such as Lao Zheng Roujin, Xiaoxiao Liangpi, and Gao Jie. After more than ten years, these restaurants are still open and will probably remain open. Haiyun, Golden Eagle, Jindi, and Carrefour are still there. The subway is open, Suning is open, and Deji is under construction. The youth in my memory is always so dazzling.

The swimming pool and gym were located on the B1 floor. The facilities were complete, meeting daily exercise and leisure needs. However, the hotel was not in a good location. It was located on a hill in the university town of Tongshan District, about 10 km from the city center. The hotel was grandly decorated, continuing the design style of the new generation of Sheraton hotels. It was simple and elegant but lacked uniqueness, similar to the newly opened Sheraton hotels in other cities. The room view was average. Whether it was a standard room or a suite, the view outside the window was ordinary. The lounge was located on the left side of the lobby on the first floor. There was no separate executive floor. You needed to swipe your room card to enter. The lounge view was also average. 💰Average cost: The price of a Marriott executive king room was CNY 802 per night. 💗Other tips: The lounge staff were friendly and attentive. I had dinner at the Daily Social all-day dining restaurant on New Year's Eve. The buffet dinner included mutton hotpot. The food was up to the standard of a 5-star hotel. Although it was not outstanding, it was not disappointing either. There were many guests on New Year's Eve. There were enough hotel staff to provide good service. The breakfast the next day was rich in variety and above average in taste. However, there were too many people, so I had to share a table. Overall, Sheraton Xuzhou Hotel is a standard hotel. It has no obvious shortcomings, but it also lacks impressive features. It is more like a product of Marriott's mass replication in its store expansion layout, similar to an upgraded version of Fairfield by Marriott.

Winter break is here, and I wanted to give my baby and myself a special weekend before the Spring Festival travel rush! We went to Xuzhou Europark Polar Ocean World, which is like a dreamlike ocean kingdom! I'll write a separate guide for this later. After our two-day, one-night trip, we didn't go straight home. There was a flash sale, and I'm a Marriott newbie, so we stayed another night at Sheraton Xuzhou! It was definitely a wise choice. Our family had a great stay, and I have to share it with you. We stayed in the Pengcheng Adventure Family Room. As soon as we entered, my child was attracted by the childlike decor. The room was full of toys, and my little one had a great time playing with them. I quickly took a lot of photos of him playing happily. There are many family rooms, but few are decorated with such care. The overall atmosphere of the family room and the mini-game about finding the lost Han jade are both great. There are even toys for young children, so you don't have to watch TV in the room. You can play for one or two hours, which is great! My baby had a special bag with a lot of baby supplies, which was well-prepared and thoughtful. The room was spacious and bright, with a warm and comfortable decor. The soft bedding gave us a good night's sleep. The New Year atmosphere in the hotel was very strong, with red decorations everywhere. There were also cute Xi Mengmeng dolls in the lobby, which my baby loved. We had a set meal for two at Yue Chinese Restaurant. The dishes were exquisite and delicious, and each one was made with care. The restaurant had an elegant environment and attentive service, and we were very satisfied with our meal. I feel like I missed out! I was full when I went to the Executive Lounge and found that the happy hour was great, and there weren't as many people as in southern Jiangsu. My picky eater ate well in Xuzhou these days, so I feel like I have to come back to raise my child well! There are many fun places in the hotel. The fitness center has a pool and gym with complete facilities, and the atrium garden has a nice view. It's a pity it's too cold in winter. Overall, Xuzhou is a great place with delicious food and warm hospitality. If I have time later, especially if there's a flash sale, I'll come back to stay at the Sheraton and have fun again, haha!

The Deluxe Room was upgraded to a double room with lounge access, and the value for money was really high with the 1k points from Q1. Check-in: Arrived at the hotel at 12:30, the front desk checked me in directly, very enthusiastic, the hotel has several buildings, it took a lot of time to walk from the front desk to the room. Lounge: The afternoon tea was standard, but the dinner was really amazing, with a variety of types and tastes, it's rare to have a lounge meal that can make you full and satisfied, it's hard to find a match at the same price (about 140 for the lounge alone), when I asked the waiter, the lady told me to use my imagination to order a cocktail, the overall experience was very good. Room: The facilities are relatively new, the floor-to-ceiling windows in the room directly overlook the hotel's garden, the sun shines directly into the room during the day, very comfortable. Breakfast: There are local specialties in Xuzhou, spicy soup and rice noodles, the quality is relatively guaranteed, and the restaurant is large, there are many people but it doesn't feel crowded, it was a very good dining experience. Summary Pros: The front desk service is enthusiastic, the hotel is large, the greening is good, the facilities are new, there is a special indoor golf (charged), the lounge is about 70 per person, it's hard to find a match at the same price. Cons: The location is relatively remote, it's a 20-30 minute drive from the city and attractions, the 630 Deluxe Room includes a mini bar, plus the lounge access provided by the hotel, the value for money is really high, it's a good place to stay for a short weekend, suitable for those with a limited budget who want to experience a quiet and comfortable stay. The dishes are really rich, and the taste is medium to upper. Breakfast, not many people and the dishes are also rich, including some Xuzhou specialty snacks and freshly squeezed juice, but it seems that there is no additional supplement after 9:30, of course, if you want, you can also ask the service staff separately. I ordered a latte, and the coffee beans were really a bit bitter, and the people who like acid didn't like it. Salad area, there are the same grade Hotels rarely have quinoa that can be paired with green vegetables as a fat-reducing meal. I still like handmade wontons the most, which can be ordered and packaged on the spot. location Located in Xuzhou High-tech Entrepreneurship Park, close to universities and Quanshan Forest Park, I initially thought it was a "Mining University Guest House". In fact, it is only a 10-minute drive from Yunlong Lake Scenic Area. design The hotel's exterior design is simple and atmospheric, with an open hotel lobby, wood color and white marble combined with local cultural elements such as ships and the Silk Road, and the ancient and modern cultures blend ingeniously. One room The light wood tone echoes the soft and comfortable decoration, creating a warm and elegant home feeling. The dark blue carpet, black and white checkered sofa, and Sheraton's characteristic mattress make people sleep peacefully. Although the window is a parking lot, you can see the quiet mountain view through the floor-to-ceiling windows, especially in the evening. Facilities The gym and swimming pool are fully equipped, and there is a landscape courtyard, which is quiet in the midst of trouble, exuding the fragrance of osmanthus, and has the momentum of "holding mountains and rivers". What's the disadvantage? If there is a shortage, the decoration smell in the area from Building 1 to the elevator has not been exhausted. When I just arrived at the hotel and got off the car, the doorman had a big smell, holding his hands as if he couldn't see the guests checking in, and when he left the hotel and got on the car, he wanted to help you pull the car door and was not so active. It's just that kind of service that seems to be in place but not in place. Of course, I have no requirements for the hotel in this regard.

Generally, the investment scale and occupancy rate can roughly determine whether the owner unit has a state-owned enterprise background. 1. The surrounding transportation is convenient, with supermarkets, cinemas, etc. opposite, and it is also quite close to Yunlong Lake and Yunlong Mountain. It is estimated that a taxi ride will cost just over 10 yuan. 3. Special praise for the dishes in this lounge. It is common to see owner units tightening dining standards due to the sharp increase in the number of Platinum and Titanium members, but this lounge will not disappoint. After zooming in on the pictures, you can see that there are many types of dishes, and the afternoon tea time also includes soft drinks, desserts, and fruits. 4. The breakfast variety is complete, in addition to the usual porridge, noodles, wontons, and white rice, there are also Xuzhou specialties such as Sanzi and rolled pancakes from the capital of Northern Jiangsu. The Sheraton Hotel in Xuzhou is located in the Tongshan District, with no notable attractions nearby. It was my first stay, and I was upgraded to a suite. Since there is no dedicated executive floor, the lounge is located on the first floor and requires a card for entry. However, the lounge staff are very friendly, and it's accessible 24 hours for soft drinks and the like, with a pretty good happy hour spread in the evening. The gym and swimming pool are on the basement level; although small, the equipment and hygiene are well-maintained. Overall, this is a high-quality Sheraton Hotel, and it would be a good choice if you don't care about the view or gourmet food

Xuzhou Sheraton Hotel - YUE Yue Kitchen Xuzhou's new Marriott choice: Still in the adjustment period, the Sheraton is perfect for experiencing the newly opened Xuzhou Sheraton Hotel, which is also the ninth brand I stayed at for the Marriott O3 event. Overall, the stay was mediocre, just the normal Sheraton standard. However, if I were to choose again in Xuzhou, my first choice would probably still be the Marriott by Yunlong Lake, not this one. Because, I think the location is really inconvenient, being nearly half an hour's drive from the high-speed rail station and the city center. It's practically in the suburbs, with desolate surroundings, no good food or fun places, and it's really not convenient without a car. But to be fair, as a new hotel, the facilities are quite good, the decor is impressive, and as a Titanium member, I was generously upgraded to a suite, which was quite spacious. The welcome amenities were also decent, but you can forget about the view from the window, it's practically non-existent. The hotel is large and it's easy to get lost if you don't have a good sense of direction. Additionally, I don't know if it's because of low occupancy, but the lounge doesn't have a happy hour buffet, instead, it offers set meals to order, with just two options: Chinese or Western. I chose the Western option, which was a steak set meal, and the quality was very average, it felt quite perfunctory. The breakfast restaurant is large, with a wide variety of choices, and should be considered above average in its class. The gym is small, and the front desk mentioned it was under maintenance. The pool was closed, but the treadmills and such were in normal use these days, though there was a strong smell from the renovations, probably due to poor ventilation on the basement level. In conclusion, if you're traveling for business or leisure, I think the first choice in Xuzhou's Marriott series should definitely be the Marriott by Yunlong Lake, not the Sheraton. There's no need to go out of your way to check in here, or it's also fine if you don't mind the commute time. Hopefully, there will be more Marriott options in Xuzhou in the future.
