The winter Shaxi is as beautiful as a painting
The winter Shaxi has morning fog and dusk. Every early winter, it becomes even more beautiful like a painting~ The temperature is comfortable, and the scenery is beautiful.
In the winter of Shaxi, there is an unpredictable wind. Every day you can see a grand sunrise and sunset, and the villagers who are busy sowing in the fields. In another month, you can see the colorful auspicious clouds every day.
Shaxi Ancient Town is the only surviving market on the Ancient Tea Horse Road, a truly living secluded ancient village, simple, pure, half worldly, half paradise! When you come here, you will unconsciously slow down.

Compared to Dali Ancient City, I love the low-key and lively Shaxi Ancient Town more
Among the many ancient towns in Yunnan, I prefer Shaxi.
👉🏻Not overly developed, retaining the original Bai ethnic group's rammed earth houses;
👉🏻Characteristic handicrafts, very local;
👉🏻The environment around the ancient town is original, very poetic;
👉🏻And there are coffee shops suitable for idling.
-
Shaxi Ancient Town is mainly about idling,
It's more suitable to stay here for 1-2 nights,
Go see the morning mist of Yujin Bridge in the early morning,
Li Xian's same Pioneer Bookstore location,
I really recommend you to come to the lively Shaxi Ancient Town!

Shaxi: The paddy field on the way to the Half Mountain Coffee is so healing!
It's the season of rice fragrance, and you can see golden paddy fields everywhere in Shaxi ancient town.
It's dusk. We came out of the Pioneer Bookstore and prepared to go to Half Mountain Coffee for a juice.
The yellow tuk-tuk carried us on the village road, the road was easy to walk. The endless paddy field presents its most beautiful appearance under the sunset, the rice is heavily hanging down its head, there is a wisp of cooking smoke in the distance, and the farmers are busy cooking. Couldn't help but stop and take a photo with the paddy field, it's very photogenic.
Half Mountain Coffee is located at the viewing platform of Hualong Village, with an excellent geographical location. Looking down from the window, the well-arranged rural scenery, especially that piece of paddy field is super healing!
It's late, dare not drink coffee, afraid of insomnia at night, ordered a pear orange juice, the taste is very positive, delicious.
This country road is especially suitable for walking, the beautiful scenery in the field is not enough, especially in the deep autumn season, the Heihui River flows slowly, under the blue sky and white clouds there are paddy fields and corn fields, Gesang flowers are everywhere, roasted leaf flowers are also blooming, so beautiful.

Baby explores Shaxi Yunana
A decade ago, the tranquility and allure of Shaxi left a profound mark on me❤️. This year, I returned to this beloved place with my family in tow. Every day, strolling the ancient streets with rich coffee in hand☕, time seemed to stand still.
However, this trip wasn’t all easygoing. Bringing Sienna here ignited many debates. Some believe that traveling with children might disrupt their routines and isn’t suitable for them. Yet, we believe that travel can offer children unparalleled experiences and perspectives🌍.
In Shaxi, Sienna had the chance to connect with nature🌱 and experience a life distinct from the city. Seeing the curiosity and excitement in her eyes, we felt it was all worth it.
But we also faced challenges, such as ensuring Sienna’s safety and comfort. It really got me thinking about the balance between travel and family life.
What do you think? Is traveling with children a good idea, or should we wait until they’re older? Eager to hear your views and comments!

Relax in Shaxi Ancient Town
It may be a little out of the way but I can't stress how lovely Shaxi Ancient Town is. Full of handicrafts, cafés, bakeries, restaurants and bars it's a wonderful place to spend a day or two.
I stayed for 2 days and wished I'd stayed longer! There are even vegan restaurants. It is midway between Lijiang and Dali so visit on the way between either two. Getting there is a little difficult, it takes a train and then a bus, but once you're there ask about local minibusses or drivers. They'll drive you directly to Dali for ¥80.

The most CHILLED. Shaxi and Shibaoshan.
Shaxi is commercial, but still in a nice way. People are relaxed and happy. Nice restaurants and small bars abound. Of course there are handicraft shops, but there seems to be no connection with local crafts people. The streets are small and car free. There’s a river and water area. For foreigners and locals alike, there’s Peter’s Kitchen - an absolute gem of a bakery, that was always jam packed when I visited. Hungry Buddha is a super vegan option, near the large tree. Be careful, the pizzas are quite large.
The trip recommended to me was Shibaoshan temples and grottoes. Again, I recommend Komoot hiking maps and further, to do my route in reverse. Start near Shaxi and hike steeply upwards, marvelling at the rock formations and occasional sculptures until you reach the temple and grottoes. From there, cross the valley to more sculptures and rock features. Then find the paths towards Jinding temple area with craggy grottoes and a lot of monkeys. Down the road to the exit, the nunnery up to the side provides food by donation. It was pretty tasty too!
Overall Shaxi, is a fantastic place to chill and hike for a couple of nights. Highly recommended!

Genuinely Ancient Shaxi
Only 2 hours drive from Dali or a little bit less from Lijiang and you are in the most beautiful ancient town of Yunnan. It’s small, not as commercial as Lijiang, with many beautiful spots within the ancient part and beyond. History is very interesting, let me only mention that Shaxi served as a stop along the Tea and Horse Caravan Trail (between Tibet and Yunnan) for several centuries until mid 1900’s. You can easily enjoy here during 1-2 days trip, or stay for a week and peacefully recharge yourself. I recommend to cycle to couple of places like Mountain Café (great coffee and the view!), Shaxi Bai Ethnic Book Store (for books, obviously, and souvenirs) - or hire tuktuk if you’re a bit… lazy:) #yunnan

Shaxi Ancient Town - a truly magical place
A magical ancient town full of wonder and incredible beauty where there is a clear stream flowing down the center and all the aged design house owners take incredible care and pride in their gardens to add a rainbow of colors and personality.
It’s long been called the Switzerland of China and after our trip to see this with our own eyes - I can confirm it’s really a special must see destination when wishing to explore ancient beauty outside of the big cities.
Within the city there are cute little coffee shops, traditional food, original and immaculately designed home stays / boutique hotels which are a must try, to absorb yourself in the atmosphere.
It you a fortunate to visit in Spring you will be able to admire the river surrounded in flowers on both sides hugging the river. Take some time to admire the old arched stone bridge that is perfect during golden hour in the afternoon and also great for photos.
Make sure to pass by the old souvenir shop in the main square where a friendly little old lady who might just be as old as the town, helps you buy little mementos and strawberries.
Whether you are a tourist or a local, Shaxi Ancient Town should be on your travel list. This really was one of the most beautiful places I have visited so far. You will not regret it.

Charm of Yunnan - Shaxi Ancient Town
Getting There - Shaxi Ancient Town is a pleasant surprise sitting between Dali and Lijiang. It’s easy to find local mini bus that takes you either from Lijiang or Dali straight to the town for a reasonable price.
It is a famous attraction among Chinese as once it played an important role as a bustling trade point on the Tea Horse Caravan Road.
My friend and I rode motorcycle all the way from Lijiang to Shaxi and stayed at a local guesthouse that provides a nice view of the entire area. Be warned that prices for everything are slightly higher than Lijiang or Dali but a visit is definitely worth it. Many people fall in love with how tranquil this town is as my friend and I did as well.
In the town, the ancient stage, temples, alleyways, houses, village gates, bridges, and traditional fairs all remain intact.

First day of Tiger Year in Shaxi
We started our trip in the morning from Dali with the direction Lijiang. Somewhere in the middle between Dali and Lijiang is an ancient town of Shaxi. Shaxi was an important stop on the old tea route, which lead from Yunnan to Burma and Tibet.
Just after we got off the highway, there was a police filter, where they checked our travel codes and temperature. Beware that you still have mountain road ahead and it is quite whirly. Also the road to Shaxi is not in great shape. Although I think they are working on an alternative way to get there.
When we arrived in Shaxi, we were grated by a town, which is still waking up. The pavement, the houses, the shops, the temple... Everything seemed to be out of a fairytale. And the elderly people were really eager to get to talk to you. I stopped to look for directions and a man came to tell me where I can find a toilet and also asked about where I am from, if we were already engaded in a discussion.
Xingjao Temple was decorated with red lampions. Sideng market square too, and all shops had red stripes of blessings, door gods and red lampions.
Everything was dressed up nicely for the new year, but there was no sight of the firecrackers in the old town. I think they all got cleaned up already.
I really liked the town. I think next time we should stay at least overnight there.

Shaxi is like Lijiang more than ten years ago. Neat stone road, there is a clear stream on both sides of the street, the water is unbelievable.
Rows of shops are also old houses, wooden carved doors and windows, some are snack bars, some sell clothing, some are hardware department stores, there are also one or two bookstores, coffee shops, cute shops, neither People feel too commercial, and they don't make tourists feel too primitive. It maintains a proper balance between old and simple tastes.
Ancient stage is Shaxi is also the landmark building of the temple on the street. The tree on the open space in front of the stage is old, and it has its appearance in the old photos of the last century. At that time, the tree was still relatively Fine, not as leafy as it is now, standing on the ground. The opposite of the
ancient stage is the Xingjiao Temple built in the Ming Yongle period. It and the ancient stage form the center point of Shaxi. In the early years of the information picture, the people here come and go, the horses shuttle constantly, than Qingming Shanghe map will be a bit more lively.
The world is changing, the flow of years is like a white pass, and the bustling market of the bustling city has now vanished, leaving only the bluestone board to tell the silence of the land.
Shaxi's inn, all of them are exquisite and have a mood, the flowers and trees are sparse, and the public space has comfortable and interesting couches. When people see it, they want to go in and have a cup of tea and spend a long time. I hope that I am an innkeeper, guarding a yard of flowers, boil water, cooking tea, watching the clouds.
Bean..
The ancient town of Shaxi is different from Wuzhen. It is popular in the ancient town of Jiangnan. It still retains its original features due to inconvenient transportation. Although it has been a lot of prosperity since four years ago, there are still not many people. Ancient temples, ancient stage, ancient shops, ancient red sandstone streets, centuries-old trees, ancient lanes... all of which fascinate us. Sifang Street is the most characteristic place in Shaxi. Under the blue sky and white clouds, the uneven stone road, occasionally there will be puppies walking. The Shaxi without the tour group is more free. Everyone who comes here seems to be distracted. They played chess on the street, or bought some pine mushrooms on the street, or just wandered aimlessly, and we did the same, taking pictures while walking, stopping and stopping.
Jojos trip.
our trip to shaxi
we came to shaxi after being in dali ancient town.
shaxi is way more relaxed and quite and less touristy.
our first day we spent on exploring the ancient town and walking between the beautiful streets.
the next days we spent on exploring the nearby villages. they are very calm and beautiful and surrounded by beautiful fields and nice people.
one day we rented a bicycle to travel to the more far villages and got to the white dragon pool.

Upon arriving in Dali, do not forget there is a place called Shaxi
A misty rain, the rapid hooves of the Tea Horse Road. The profound and deep Shaxi seems to capture the ancient dust, prosperity, and vicissitudes of thousands of years, freezing them into a serene and beautiful scroll with the morning bell of the old buildings!

Head to where the wind blows—Shaxi Ancient Town is no wonder so popular
Leisurely, simple, and tranquil, it's a pastoral scene of beauty. The old courtyards in Shaxi Ancient Town mostly have red walls and green tiles.
Square and orderly, every household plants some flowers and grass,
Many shops have places to rest in front of them🍃, sitting in the courtyard flipping through a book.🍃Feel the leisurely summer time
Last year, a TV series 'Head to where the wind blows'🎬 was partly filmed here: 'Mint Coffee•Wind Courtyard', 'Dongzhaimen', 'Yujin Bridge', 'Ouyang Courtyard', the ancient stage, next to which is a century-old tree🌲
📖To get to the Pioneer Bookstore in the ancient town, it's 1.6 kilometers away, and it's very convenient to take a sightseeing car for 5 yuan💰. It takes 1 hour and 20 minutes from Shaxi Ancient Town to Lijiang. It's 2 hours away from Dali.
⛩️The village is not big and you will pass many of the same filming locations in the village, no need to deliberately search for them,
There's also a Mid-Mountain Coffee☕ located next to the farmland outside the ancient town, ☕where consumption is not expensive,
The second window terrace is the same spot as Li Xian, and Mid-Mountain Coffee faces a large expanse of farmland🌿
From the terrace, you can see a large expanse of farmland

Head to the place where the wind blows - Shaxi Ancient Town
Located in the southeastern part of Jianchuan, Dali City, Yunnan Province. It is situated in the southeastern part of the Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas, right between the Dali Scenic Area and the Lijiang Ancient Town. Shaxi Ancient Town is what Lijiang Ancient Town looked like thirty years ago. Once believed so, Shaxi Ancient Town is still an ancient town that has not been overly commercialized. If you stroll through this tranquil town, you will feel that sense of poetry and distance.

The autumn atmosphere in Dali's Shaxi Ancient Town is so thick! Come and feel it, everyone!
🎨 The autumn here is like a beautiful painting scroll🖼.
Walking on the cobblestone path🚶, feeling the autumn breeze🍃, is simply too comfortable😝.
🌳 The golden ginkgo leaves fall with the wind, covering the entire street, as if entering a fairy tale world🎈.
🎑 The ancient and elegant architecture, set against the autumn colors, becomes even more enchanting😘.
🍁 The autumn wind brings a touch of coolness, making one's mood exceptionally pleasant🤩.
🍁 The golden leaves, the ancient and elegant buildings, everything is so enchanting😍.
Here, time seems to slow down😌, allowing you to fully enjoy the beauty of autumn💖.

Shaxi Ancient Town Travel Guide | If you're thinking of going, save this recommendation
Shaxi Ancient Town originated during the rise of the Nanzhao Kingdom and is the only surviving market town on the ancient Tea Horse Road. It is also the ancient town where Xu Hongdou from 'Where There Is Wind' lived.
The surrounding natural scenery is beautiful, and the town's architecture is quaint and full of character. It takes just an hour or two to walk through the entire town, but it's more suitable for settling down to relax and enjoy some slow time.
🚌Transport
We went there from Jianchuan. Next to the Jianchuan bus station, you can find the green minivan heading to Shaxi Ancient Town.
The fare is 20 yuan per person, and the ride takes about an hour. The van will take you directly to the Shaxi Ancient Town Visitor Center parking lot. For the return trip, you can follow the 084 county road out of the ancient town to the entrance, where you can catch a van back to Jianchuan.
💌Tip: The mountain roads are winding and can easily cause motion sickness, so it's a good idea to take some motion sickness medicine in advance.
➡️Tour Route in the Ancient Town
Yujin Bridge - Nanzong Ancient Alley - Ancient Opera Stage - Xingjiao Temple - Sideng Street - Ouyang Courtyard - Shaxi Specialty Snack Market
⛰️Yujin Bridge
The Yujin Bridge to the east of the ancient town is the best place to enjoy the natural scenery. Horses pass over the bridge, their bells ringing crisply. On a clear and sunny day, strolling along the Heihui River can cure all unhappiness.
⛰️Nanzong Ancient Alley
A quaint and quiet alley, with traditional Bai ethnic houses and ancient-style shops on the side. There is also a Nanzhai Gate, an arched gate made of adobe, which is one of my favorite places in the ancient town.
⛰️Ancient Opera Stage
With a stage in front and a pavilion in the back, this Kui Xing Pavilion-style building is the central area of the town. Next to it is Grandma A Rui's shop, and Shaxi's performance artist, the Shaxi Chaplin, often appears here.
⛰️Xingjiao Temple
Built during the Ming Dynasty, it is currently the largest and most representative Buddhist Tantric 'Azha Li' temple in China. The sculptures at the entrance and the murals inside are rich in local characteristics and are treasures of ancient Bai ethnic art.
⛰️Sideng Street
The main street of the ancient town, with low Qing Dynasty houses on both sides and Ming and Qing stone slabs underfoot. It's as if time has stood still, making this street seem unchanged from a hundred years ago.
⛰️Ouyang Courtyard
A traditional Bai ethnic building, it is the best-preserved residence in the town and was once a horse inn.
⛰️Shaxi Specialty Snack Market
Next to the visitor center parking lot, there are many local specialties, such as ersi, rice noodles, roasted ersi blocks, and grilled milk fans.
🕰️Opening Hours: Open all day

A day when the heart flutters for the white fringe, don't miss this niche village in Dali
Finally captured the white fringe.
Just looking at her is like reading an ancient poem.
April snow in the human world, that is the fringe flower.
It's really beautiful.
This is a very niche flower, not stunningly gorgeous,
but it made me fall in love at first sight.
Finally made the connection.
Navigate to Sangling Village in Dali, it's very close to the highway exit.
You might need to hire a car or drive yourself.
I hope the sisters go early, if you go late, the place will be taken over by the grandparents, and it might not be so good for taking pictures.
Suggested travel route:
Sangling Village ~ Jian Lake ~ Shaxi Ancient Town,
Connecting these three places, one day is enough.
I hope everyone has a fun time.

I thought Dali was already slow-paced, until I visited this place
I've been to many ancient towns in China
and I'm quite "afraid" of the uniform commercialization
Never would I have expected, Shaxi gave me an unexpected surprise💯
Simple and tranquil
Here, there are no crowded throngs of people, nor the noise of commerce
One can feel even more the simplicity of the ancient town
Shaxi is not big, yet every step is a view
There are religious ancient buildings, caravan culture, as well as field coffee and ancient bridges over flowing water
Old houses filled with memories, the wisps of cooking smoke in the early morning
All make one feel particularly comfortable
Worth staying for a couple of days to wander leisurely

Dali, More Than Just an Ancient City! Don't Miss These Treasure Spots
The May Day holiday is approaching, have you got your travel plans all set? Quickly take note of these recommended Dali attractions.
Dali Ancient Town: This historic and cultural city of China is filled with an ancient charm, showcasing the traditional style of the Bai people. Wander along Fuxing Road during the day, meander through various shops, and you might even find some small items with ethnic characteristics. When you feel tired and hungry, the snack shops by the road will let you taste the special local snacks.
Shaxi Ancient Town: Time in Shaxi seems to slow down a bit. Bridges, flowing water, and households have all become tangible here. At sunrise, smoke curls up from the kitchens in the town's countryside. This place is also the filming location for the TV series 'Go to the Place with the Wind', and it has a unique Tea Horse Road cultural and human landscape.
Xizhou Ancient Town: The most authentic Bai-style residences and wheat fields in Dali reflect each other here, offering you a fairy-tale dream of wind-blown wheat waves. The charming rural scenery is as romantic as a painting. Check in at the corner tower here and taste the Xizhou Baba.
Shuanglang Ancient Town: To the west, you can gaze at the nineteen peaks of Cangshan Mountain, and to the east, you can be close to the vast blue waves of Erhai Lake, enjoying the reputation of 'the town with the best view of Erhai Lake'. The entire Shuanglang Ancient Town is surrounded by Erhai Lake, overlooking Xiaguan from afar, quietly gazing at Cangshan Mountain, and the excellent geographical location of having a door facing Erhai Lake is unparalleled!
Chongsheng Temple Three Pagodas: As the landmark building of Dali and the only 5A-level scenic spot, it is also a famous Buddhist holy place. The royal temple from a thousand years ago allows you to experience the martial arts world described in Jin Yong's novels.
Nanzhao Style Island: Surrounded by water on all sides, to the east it leans against the Buddhist holy land of Jizu Mountain, and to the west it faces Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake. It is lush all year round, often accompanied by clouds and mists, and the scenery you casually capture is all cinematic.
Xingsheng Bridge: This white Gothic-style bridge has a full Seine River atmosphere, making it extremely photogenic for portraits. The views from both sides of the bridge are different, and taking photos will give you different feelings, all worth a try.
Longkan Wharf: Dali's beautiful holy land for watching the sunrise, the redwood trees by Erhai Lake are reflected in the water, complementing the clouds on the horizon, with flocks of seagulls, making one feel as if they are in a fairy tale.

Recommendations for four underrated yet beautiful niche attractions in Yunnan!!
Introducing four lesser-known yet stunning attractions in Yunnan!! Shared by a local Yunnan resident.
From August last year to the Spring Festival, I personally experienced the fluctuation of tourist flow in places like Dali Ancient City, Xizhou Ancient Town, Shaxi Ancient Town, and Xishuangbanna. If you still wish to visit the popular spots frequented by celebrities like Liu Yifei and Li Xian, I would suggest off-peak travel and choosing less crowded destinations.
①Wenhai
Wenhai Village is part of Baisha Ancient Town, but it requires a 40-minute drive along a winding mountain road from the main town. Nestled beneath the towering Gaohai and Baoshan mountains, this pristine and natural local village is surrounded by grasslands and lakes.
There are no entrance fees, no shops, just navigate to Wenhai Village.
②Longnu Lake Ranch
Search for Longnu Lake, it's about a half-hour drive from Baisha Ancient Town. This ranch is accessed via a muddy country road, featuring rolling hills, fences, and herds of carefree cattle and sheep, reminiscent of scenes from "Heidi's Grandfather".
③Snow Mountain Campsite
This expansive campsite is located at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Navigate to the Mediterranean Resort, where you'll find a stunning solitary tree. The lush greenery of spring and the stark beauty of winter are both equally captivating!
④Yunshanping
I truly wish to share this beautiful snow-capped forest with you! The forest boardwalk after a snowfall, the sunlight filtering through onto the snowy path, the faint silhouette of the snow mountain amidst the tree shadows... it's like a romantic twilight city.
You don't necessarily have to queue for a long time and squeeze into a cable car to the top of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, the scenery at the foot of the mountain is already a joy to behold.
.....TIPS....
In the Spring Festival of 2023, after the reopening, Yunnan tourism will reach a peak. It will be hard to find accommodation and dining in popular tourist spots. It is suggested to go after the eighth day of the Lunar New Year to less crowded attractions to avoid a poor experience due to the heavy burden of tourist reception.

Yunnan Off-the-Beaten-Path Travel Guide, Shaxi Ancient Town is a must-visit once in a lifetime
Having been to Yunnan many times, this is my first visit to Shaxi Ancient Town.
Upon my first arrival in Shaxi, my initial impression is that it's quiet, cozy, and comfortable.
Here, it feels like the sunlight captures the shadows of the years, and the buildings tell of dusty tales of the past. Whether it's the unassuming locals or the bustling passersby, everyone leisurely lives out their own days.
Here, the ancient town is serene, and the daily life in Shaxi is like poetry. The slow and leisurely days turn into poetry here.
If you come to Shaxi, be sure to slow down and take a look around.

Driving to Shaxi, would you fall in love with this place without having seen 'To the Place with Wind'?
Without having watched that hugely popular TV series, and without any strategy for checking in, would you still fall in love with the ancient town of Shaxi?
Before going to Shaxi, my family had never watched the TV series 'To the Place with Wind', and since the trip to the ancient town was decided on a whim, we didn't prepare enough strategies either. But once we visited, we truly fell in love with it. Shaxi has become our favorite ancient town in Yunnan, without a doubt.
🌸 Shaxi Ancient Town
Located between Lijiang, Dali, and Shangri-La, three major tourist destinations, it is a well-preserved millennium-old town on the ancient Tea Horse Road.
We didn't specifically go to check in at the scenes or famous places from the drama, just wandered aimlessly in the town: the broad stone-paved roads, the shade of trees; the ancient buildings with gray tiles and red soil color that are different from other ancient towns, irregular in shape as they follow the terrain; not so many tourists, and the little shops along the road are very cute...
The entire ancient town is so beautiful that it doesn't seem like a real place.
The main street of Shaxi is Sideng Street, with the core being the ancient stage of Sifang Street in the square and the Xingjiao Temple opposite. Under the stage is Grandma Arai's shop, where you can take photos together only if you buy something.
Nangu Zong Alley, Ouyang Courtyard, and the south/east gatehouses are all very beautiful ancient buildings and are also very photogenic.
⚠️ Most of the check-in points that appeared in the TV series are around the ancient town, a bit far to walk. If you don't have enough time, there are chartered cars at the entrance of the ancient town to take you to these places.
The location of Shaxi Ancient Town is actually a bit awkward, being more than 2 hours' drive from both Dali and Lijiang, and the mountain roads are not easy to navigate. Self-driving is the most convenient, but you can also get there by coach.

Shaxi, I will come again
Shaxi Ancient Town can be said to be my favorite among all the ancient towns I have visited so far. The pace is very slow, the people are warm, the scenery is beautiful, and it is really suitable for living. Coming here, I felt much more relaxed. Any random restaurant won't disappoint, and everyone is exceptionally friendly and enthusiastic. The guesthouse we stayed at is called Baiyu Residence, and the owner is a very nice lady. Just a few steps away, there is a granary, and inside there is a folk bar called Tingxi Yu. They serve foreign liquors, beers, and cocktails, and of course, hot milk. If you also want to quietly listen to folk songs, be sure to go early. Usually, after ten o'clock, you can't sing with a microphone anymore to avoid disturbing the residents. If you go there, you will definitely meet a person who doesn't seem like a good person; his name is Happy Brother. He is actually not bad, just very playful and talks a lot. He treats everyone as his friend with great enthusiasm. The whole ancient town can be toured in an hour. Other places worth checking out include the Pioneer Bookstore and Mountain Peak Courtyard, but they are a bit far and not inside the ancient town. You can ride a yellow bike there.

Shaxi Ancient Town is n times better than I imagined~
Dali Ancient City is not really to my liking, but going to Weishan made me feel like I truly returned to an ancient city.
I wasn't very interested in Shaxi at first, but the landlady invited everyone to join, and thinking I had nothing else to do, I went along. On the way, the landlady bought us authentic Xizhou baba, as well as roasted bait blocks, sweet milk. Xizhou baba is like Shandong's scallion pancakes, and the sweet ones are also delicious,
Xizhou Ancient Town is different from the others I've visited, with a unique charm and different architecture. There's also a young lady who sings beautifully; I listened for a long time.
Many places are not quite the same as they appear on TV, the excessive skin smoothing in TV shows affects the colors. I prefer the original, true colors, even if it's a bit more crowded.
