Another "effective temple" in Shanghai has become popular, comparable to Longhua Temple!
🌟 There are three ancient temples in downtown Shanghai, namely Longhua Temple, Jing'an Temple, and Jade Buddha Temple, each with its own unique features. The Jade Buddha Temple is named after the two jade Buddhas, one sitting and one reclining, enshrined there. Although it is located in the Jiangning Road and Anyuan Road area of the city, it is a rare oasis of tranquility in the bustling city, a pure land in the midst of the hustle and bustle.
✨ Temple Introduction
The Jade Buddha Temple, also known as the Jade Buddha Chan Temple, has a relatively short history compared to Jing'an Temple and Longhua Temple. It was built in the eighth year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty and is named after the jade Buddhas enshrined there.
Although the Jade Buddha Temple was built during the Qing Dynasty, it follows the architectural style of Song Dynasty temples. The main structures include the Mahavira Hall and the Jade Buddha Tower. The jade Buddha in the Jade Buddha Tower is 1.95 meters tall and carved from a single piece of jade.
