My Visit to Sendare Bridge
First, the bridge, named after the one built over the river Sendare, is an example of ancient Roman architecture. The 16th century established its headquarters in Samsat (Sumasata) on that date by order of the Roman Emperor Septimus Severus (MS 193-211). It was finished by the legions.
On both sides of the southern entrance to the bridge (first photo) there are columns in the Corinthian order. It is understood that one of the inscriptions was built by the Emperor Septimus Severus and the other after his wife Julia Domna.
