Nature’s best, Seoraksan
Hiking Seoraksan in autumn feels like stepping into a painting—vibrant reds, golds, and oranges blanket the mountains. Each turn reveals new vistas, with jagged peaks rising against the blue sky. The crisp air fills me with energy, and as I climb higher, the view becomes even more breathtaking. Nature’s masterpiece. #southkorea #Autum #travel #naturalwonders #seoraksan #100waysoftravel

Golden Mountain in South Korea 🇰🇷
#fallingforfall 🍂 Trust me when I say less than 10% Malaysian has discovered this place in South Korea. Let’s do something out of the typical itinerary.
This is Seoraksan Mountain, one of the three highest peaks in South Korea. It is located in Sokcho-si. It is suitable for all ages as you can take a cable car ride around 10 minutes to the top of the mountain.
It’s only around 3 hours driving from Seoul and you will find yourself in this golden heaven especially for someone who travel in the autumn. Those pictures I took myself during this year mid-autumn.
Make sure to put this in your itinerary next time you are planning to go to South Korea.

Seoraksan is a mountain in South Korea that is known for its scenic beauty and diverse plant and animal life. It is a popular destination for hiking and outdoor activities, and is home to many temples and cultural sites. The mountain is also designated as a National Park, which helps to protect its natural resources and biodiversity. The view was so spectacular that I really enjoyed my hike there.

#gohiking
Ulsanbawi trail is the most challenging in Seoraksan mountain.
It is 7.2 km long in total. Normal finishing time is 4-6 hours. If you are not used to hiking, it may be challenging for you.
When you reach the top, a magnificent view will be waiting for you. You will feel yourself above the clouds.
Note: I recommend that you prepare your food and drink in advance as the journey will take a long time.

Seorak Falls
The ideal way to comfortably appreciate the magnificent landscape of Seoraksan Mountain is using the Seorak Cable Car. The cable car boarding station is located in the Small Park of Seoraksan National Park. It takes about 10 min to get to the Gwongeumseong Fortress (700m above sea level) by the cable car. One-way ticket is not available, so visitors need to buy a round-trip ticket. Visitors can also enjoy an open view of various famous attractions such as Ulsan Peak and Manmulsang Rocks beyond glass window in the cable car.

Seoraksan Mountain is one of Korea's most famous tourist destinations that stretches across several areas including Sokcho, Goseong, Inje, and Yangyang in Gangwon-do. It was designated as Korea's fifth national park in 1970 after the designation of Hallyeohaesang National Park, and as Korea's first UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 1982. Lunch under the Fall Foliage
#fallingforfall
There are a few Korean restaurants and cafes around Seoraksan National Park. As we are at Seoraksan till 3pm, we decided to have our lunch outdoors under the colourful fall foliage.
Lunch for me was the Banquet noodles (Janchi-guksu), which is a simple warm and savory noodle soup. Simply a perfect meal for me during the cold weather in autumn. It's called Banquet/Festival noodles as the wheat noodles soup is usually served during celebration occasions such as weddings & birthday celebrations (60th years old).
We had also ordered a bibimbap, which is a Korean mixed rice dish with vegetables. Some banchan (vegetables side dishes) were also given with our lunch meals.

A hike to admire the fall foliage in the ⛰
We took cable car and try the 2.4km hike and the view is so fantastic.
Seoraksan National Park has always been a place to admire the fall foliage in the trees on the mountain. I have never seem so many shades of 🍂 colours before. There are many peaks that can be seen and different hiking trails (from easy to challenging) to suit your style.
I love how close we are to the mountain and the fresh pure mountain air here.
There are some small lakes and streams along the hike. So do take your time to go slow and enjoy the nature.
If you are not sure how to get here, there is some travel agent running day tour to this mountain too.

Day trip to Seoraksan National Park
#fallingforfall
One of the most popular & famous fall foliage locations, Seoraksan Mountain is located at the eastern side of Seoul / South Korea near Sokcho. It's quite a long journey of around 3.5hours from Seoul and the fall foliage had yet to reach the peak when I was there.
Even so, the fall foliage was still stunning and beautiful at certain parts of the national park. There's quite a lot of people to view the fall foliage even though it's a weekday. We walked quite a lot around the national park but due to the lack of time, we are only able to cover a small part. I would recommend to come around 20+ October ( a few more days time) to see the full peak season as it will definitely be more beautiful.

Beautiful landscapes
Seoraksan is often known as Korea's most beautiful national park as it offers visitors with beautiful landscapes of the surrounding mountains and lush green trees.
In the park, which does have an entrance fee, you're truly greeted with greenery that really rests you and offers you a nice break from the fatigues of life. The park itself is huge and there are multiple hiking trails for those keen on getting some exercise done.
For the those who want something more relaxing, yet equally breathtaking, try taking the funicular to the top of the mountain. It's quite fun to ride in but it's definitely not for those who have a fear of heights. On clear days, one can have a birds eye view of the entire area, otherwise you'll be in a misty cloud #korea f fog which does also have its own character.
Lovely landscapes, nature and a good getaway are what Seoraksan will offer! #park #nature #outdoors #travel #korea

Seoraksan National Park
I will definitely return to Seoraksan National Park if I had the chance to visit South Korea again. This place was absolutely beautiful. There was something for everyone; sightseeing, hiking, eating and shopping. I spent the whole day hiking trails and enjoying the outdoors. Because I came with my family, so we did take the cable car ride to the top as well for some beautiful views of the surrounding area. I would recommend doing that first as the lines will only get longer as the time gets later in the afternoon. The views at Seoraksan left me speechless, so I will let the pictures do the talking! You can also opt for doing the real hiking to Mount Soerak as well, but you might have to stay for one night in the mountain because the hike itself is quite long ⛰🍃🌿⛅️ #nationalpark #urbanexplorer #southkorea

Seoraksan National Park - Simply a test of grit and endurance
What seemed to be a typical day trip to visit the national park had me panting the entire time and aching sore for the next few days.
We had originally planned to do an easy hike to visit the national park. It was a very easy hike initially, mostly flat terrains and long walks. As we reached the end of the easy path, we saw the signs up to a cave; we decided to challenge ourselves by extending the hike. Immediately, the terrain changed and it was pure rocks on a steep incline. It was a stark difference from what we had experienced earlier. On the easy terrain, we were able to see many hikers along the way. The hike up to the cave, we barely saw many other hikers. Those we were descending encouraged us to carry on, promising us that the path is a fulfilling one.
True enough. What seemed to be a long 2 hours up 600m path with a steep include of almost 70 degrees, we reached an opening which stunned us all. But that was not all! There is, again, a steep stairs up to a small cave barely visible from the bottom. We walked up and viola, it was a breathtaking scene which we made us felt triumph and somewhat comforting that we have took up the challenge to truly finish the course of the hike.
After the hike, we tried to search for more details on the hike we took and there weren’t much details on it. We hope this could give a glimpse to the hike. Having hiking sticks is recommended. It definitely helps to make the hike much easier! We will recommend all tourists to visit this spot!

2 day trip to Seoraksan national park, south korea!
We had a brilliant 2 day trip in #seoraksan national park. the park has many trails, all very easily marked, so getting lost is not really an option. also, the park has a #visitorcentre, that will help you choose the course most suited for you.
we believe the nicest peak (also portrayed in the first picture) is #ulsanbawi.
getting there is easiest by #bus, since you can't really move around the park in a car.
we were in June, and the weather was a little hot, but otherwise splendid.
