Onomichi|A Retro Filtered Little Kyoto in Setouchi
Hiroshima has many fun places, but Onomichi stands out as a unique destination.
Since it opened as a port in the Middle Ages, it has always been a hub for people and goods. Due to its mountainous terrain, it has developed into a town with various charms. Some call it the Little Kyoto of Setouchi.
Taking the Senkoji Ropeway up the mountain, you can immediately see Onomichi's advantageous geographical conditions due to its maritime transport. The arched walking observatory offers a 360-degree view of the city's beauty.
Onomichi Shopping Street comes with a retro filter, where old public baths, trendy cafes, and restaurants blend seamlessly, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Don't forget to try a bowl of Onomichi Ramen, where the dried fish broth combined with pork back fat offers a different taste experience from Kyushu's tonkotsu ramen.
