All Trip Moments about Alaverdi
Armenian mountains / Lori
Lori is a province (marz) of Armenia. It is located in the north of the country, bordering Georgia. Vanadzor is the capital and largest city of the province. Other important towns include Stepanavan, Alaverdi, and Spitak. It is home to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Haghpat and Sanahin monasteries and the well-preserved Akhtala monastery, where Armenians, Georgians, and Greeks make an annual pilgrimage on September 20–21.
24 km north of Vanadzor is the town of Stepanavan․ The town has a mild and humid climate and is considered a resort town due to its natural and climatic conditions. The most famous place of Stepanavan is Dendropark, a unique park, where a natural forest landscape has been reshaped into a Forest Park. It is home to a wide variety of trees: both native and acquired from other botanic gardens. California Sequoia of the park is of particular value․

Mikoyan Brothers Museum
said that Miko Yang, the Chinese must be no stranger, all kinds of books on Mikoyan big brother and great leader There are too many legends in the workshop. So far, people have asked why Russians do not eat dead fish. The younger brother Mi Gaoyang is the creator of the MiG fighter. In fact, these two brothers should be the most famous Soviet Armenians.
Sanahin is in the small town of Ala Verde in the province of Lorry in Armenia. Its famous world heritage site, Sanahin Monastery, is one of the must-see trips for Armenian tourists, and the Mikoyan Brothers Museum is nearby, so many You can see this small and interesting little museum in an hour.
This small museum is sponsored by the state and opened to the public in 1970. There are also gifts from the Mikoyan family, which is now run by a lady. The museum is small, but there are many interesting exhibits and many photos of the life of the Mikoyan brothers, which are fascinating to understand the life of the Soviet high-level. The second floor is not allowed to shoot now, but the postcards and fridge stickers on the first floor are very interesting! I received it a week or so after I returned to China, but I like it.
Of course, the most popular must be on the steps of the museum entrance, the MiG-21 fighter under the concrete arched ceiling, which overlooks the Lori Valley is unforgettable.

[Armenia] Medieval Armenian church architecture! World Heritage Site "Sanain Monastery"
#TravelTips
Near the border with Georgia, Sanahin Monastery is registered as a World Heritage Site, along with Haghpat Monastery in northern Armenia.
Haghpat Monastery and Saynan Monastery are about 15km apart.
Sanahin Monastery is located much further back in a residential area.
This medieval Armenian church, built after the 10th century, retains a strong resemblance to its original architecture.
This monastery is also beautiful and spectacular, with holy crosses carved into the walls, numerous tombstones at its base, and the altar dome and colonnade remaining.
Admission is also free here.
There are few tourists, with only a few souvenir stalls in front of the entrance.
The parking lot is large enough to accommodate tour buses.
Devout Christians apparently buy candles at the office-like area at the entrance.
📍Location: Sanahin, Lori Province, Armenia
💰Free admission
🕒Opening hours: Unknown (likely 24 hours, but there are no lights inside, so be careful at night)
🚗Access: Approximately 25 minutes by car from Haghpat Monastery. Day trips are also possible with local tours from Tbilisi, Georgia.

In the visa-free country of Armenia, look for "the traces of the former Soviet Union"
mining town Alaverdi's Soviet tour
copper mine plant still in use, cable car parked in midair, punk yellow bus, once Sex plastic sheets replace office windows and dilapidated residential buildings. . . It is not difficult to see that Alaverdi in northern Armenia is a typical former Soviet mining town. Perhaps because of the high mountain emperor, there is no de-Sovietization here, and it is impossible to invest in modernization due to poverty. In this way, the wild and desolate Soviet elements and the naked poverty are preserved in such a way that it is really a heart-warming and visual feast every step! It is a pity that many people have finally placed North Armenia, but they have just rushed to check out the two world heritage monasteries in the town.
