#temples Visiting the gorgeous cathedral of Saint cecile was the most memorable experience of a day trip to Albi. It's a small medieval town with a bridge and a river running through it. While there are a handful of other sights to explore including the likes of museum, palace and riverside pathway. I found the cathedral to be the heart of tourist interest in Albi. It's a French gothic Cathedral that is made from bricks. That has a certain charm to it. And I'm even told that it happens to be the world's largest brick cathedral. It has beautiful windows and carvings. The paintings on the ceilings are stunning. There is even an organ instrument inside. It must be an active place of worship. If you are looking for what not to miss in albi, the cathedral will be it. Here is a tip, the river side path. During my time in south western France, I was based in Tulouse for a couple of nights. Having done what's worthy around, I started looking into possible day trips. Albi, featured as one of the options at the tourist center. They offered the best ways of going about it and tours. However, I am not a big fan of tours. As much as I appreciate a guide and good information. Tours lack personality at times. Mostly they tend to be rushed in. Andn I'm a person of leisure. I read up on albi and decided to take a train there and roam around. Be my own guide. Took me a little over 50 minutes of riding. There were plenty of trains to and back from albi through out the day. And I remember paying less than 10 euros. Actually might have been 6 I think. The medieval architecture is a constant theme in Albi. I walked through these alleys and saw half Timbered houses. The use of bricks so evident and distinct at the same time. You cannot miss the somewhat gothic styled saint ceceille cathedral and palace. Such interesting paintings and carvings inside the cathedral. I rememeber walking down the river pathway. It's a beautiful walk with tree shade and river running by the town. This was the best hour of my time in albi. A cathedral with a marvellous interior. The interior is full with colors and walls of the chapels are covered with many painting and decoration. A nice and quiet place for worshiping. the cathedral also allows visitors to enter and explore it's amazing architecture. allows visitors to visit at own pace. is a must visit cathedral when visiting Albi. #albifrance
