The ancient city is located on the east side of Rongxian County, next to the Xiu River, and has a long and profound historical and cultural heritage. It was once the political, economic, and cultural center of ancient Rongzhou, witnessing the development and changes of the area. It is said that Rongzhou Ancient City is also the hometown of Yang Guifei, which adds a touch of legend to the ancient city.

Rongzhou Ancient City mainly features Zhenwu Pavilion, Rongzhou Mansion, a museum, Kaiyuan Temple, an ancient-style street, Qifu Bridge, a colorful waterfall, morning bells and evening drums, a cruise terminal, a Catholic church, and other attractions.
Zhenwu Pavilion: This is the core attraction of the ancient city scenic area. It was built in 1573 and has a history of more than 450 years. The entire building is a three-story wooden structure, with a total height of 13.2 meters, a width of 13.8 meters, and a depth of 11.2 meters. It was built using mortise and tenon joints and the lever principle, and the four inner columns on the second floor are suspended in mid-air, making it a unique ancient building in China. It is known as one of the four famous buildings in Jiangnan, along with Yueyang Tower, Yellow Crane Tower, and Tengwang Pavilion. It is a unique building that has been preserved intact without being demolished and rebuilt.
Rongzhou Mansion: The building has been restored to its original appearance, dignified and atmospheric, retaining the style of ancient architecture. The stone walls and wooden railings make people feel as if they have traveled through time and encountered a piece of the past.
Kaiyuan Temple: Built in the early Tang Dynasty, it has a history of more than 1,000 years and is one of the oldest temples in Guangxi. The temple is bustling with incense, and a stroll here can bring inner peace and tranquility.
Ancient-style street: The buildings on the street are full of ancient charm, with many shops selling various specialty products and food. Especially now, when the local Shatian pomelo is in season, you can buy cheap and delicious Shatian pomelo.
