#Renaissance Suzhou Hotel Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jul)
Breakfast Buffet at Renaissance Suzhou 🍳🧇☕️
I chose breakfast included when booking for my staycation. This breakfast buffet is great 👍🏼 There’s so much variety to please everyone who wants a western or a Chinese breakfast. I loved the choices of bakeries, though a tad dry. I loved the concept of making my own fresh juice using fruits and/or veggies near the salad bar 😃 I mostly had a western style breakfast which kept me full for hours. I also loved that there were more choices of tea than the typical green or black tea. Food and drinks are constantly refilled 👌🏼 Some of them are cooked on the spot.
Breakfast Hours👇🏼

Fantastic Staycation at Renaissance Suzhou ✨
I celebrated my birthday weekend in Suzhou and wanted a good hotel to spoil myself. My stay at Renaissance Suzhou Hotel was fantastic! The service was great 👍🏼 It was such a sweltering hot day and I arrived there sweaty as hell! The receptionist immediately handed me a bottle of water 🥹 I booked a Guestroom Queen-bed & got upgraded to a room on the 14th view with an epic view of the city & Central Park, which is next to the hotel.
The room was squeaky clean 👌🏼 with toiletries, essentials such as bottled water and also a basket of fruits with tonic water. There’s also a mini bar with some snacks and drinks at extra cost upon check-out. You can also find some souvenirs for sale on display near the snacks.
I was looking forward to the bath tub and was pleasantly surprised to see that they also provided bath salts 😍
Toiletries: Towels, shower cap, toilet paper, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, mouthwash, soap, body lotion, sanitary bag, hairdryer & bathrobe. The body lotion and the shower gel smelled like heaven ❤️ The hotel has this eco-friendly initiative of reducing plastics ♻️ 🌏 You can use your card to get toothbrush and toothpaste from the “plastice” distributor in the lobby if you didn’t bring your own.
Room facilities: mugs, glasses, air purifier, A.C, desk, lamp, sofa, TV, night lamp, notepad & pencil, brochures for room service, slippers, ironing board, iron, safe, full body mirror, wardrobe & drawers.
On my birthday, I came back to my room with a birthday cake on a tray waiting for me 🥹 Thanks to the dear receptionist Clara 🙏 She speaks English and will share her contact if ever you have any queries during your stay.
The lobby also has a vending machine near the lifts and you can always ask for extra water bottles at the reception desk when needed.
The location is very convenient! It’s about 30 mins by car from Suzhou Railway Station. Central Park (Zhong Yang Gong Yuan, 中央公园) 🚇 station is about 8-10 mins walk from the hotel. Lots of malls are walking distance. Suzhou center is about 15-20 mins walk and 5-10 mins by Hello bike which can easily be spotted around.
I also got a nice token gift upon checkout and asked if I had a great stay 😊 I highly recommend this hotel for the price, service & location 👍🏼

Letter to You Going to Suzhou in June | Latest Experience Sharing, Full Guide for Four Days and Three Nights
👍️Recommended Reason:
A city of Gusu, half a poem of the south of the Yangtze River. Every son and daughter of China surely harbors a dream of the south of the Yangtze. Imagining the light sway of silk fans, dreaming on the Milky Way.
If you want to experience the south of the Yangtze, probably a month wouldn't be enough. As for a working stiff like me, taking two days off plus the weekend, I also got to appreciate the charm of the transition from spring to summer in the south of the Yangtze.
📅Travel Strategy:
Day1: Suggest taking an early flight, check into the Gusu District. In the afternoon, visit the Canglang Pavilion (play for 1.5h), in the evening choose to tour Panmen at night (play for 1h), then head straight to Shantang Street (play for 1~2h).
Day2: In the morning, go to Tiger Hill first (play for 2h), during the hottest part of the day visit Suzhou Museum (play for 2h~3h), after 2 pm go to the Humble Administrator's Garden (play for 1.5h~2h), and before 5 pm enter the Lion Grove Garden (stay until closing), at night take a night tour of Pingjiang Road (play for about 2h). If you take a night tour of the Humble Administrator's Garden, you can swap times with the Lion Grove Garden.
Day3: Visit Hanshan Temple in the morning (half a day), in the afternoon switch hotels to Jinji Lake, watch the sunset and night view of Jinji Lake.
Day4: Depending on personal transportation status, if time permits, you can take a walk around the neighboring Yangcheng Lake, then return.
🍜Food Strategy:
Highly recommend Suzhou-style mung bean soup and crab roe noodles, the refreshing mint in the mung bean soup and the fragrant crab roe noodles are unforgettable.
Snacks are one aspect, but I really suggest trying the snow-fleece tofu, lion's head meatballs, boiled white cabbage, squirrel-shaped mandarin fish, drunken crab marinated in Huadiao wine, etc., at a big hotel for a dual enjoyment of sight and taste.
🏨Accommodation Strategy:
In the city, I strongly recommend the Pan Pacific Suzhou, which offers free admission to Panmen, and most importantly, after 9 pm, the illuminated Panmen is all yours.
Another top recommendation is the Wyndham Garden Suzhou, which is right outside Guanqian Street, with Pingjiang Road to the right.
Jinji Lake is where Suzhou's high-end hotels are clustered. Hyatt, Niccolo, Shangri-La, Hilton, W, Kempinski, Renaissance, and more... choose according to the price you are willing to pay.
💗Other tips:
1. Each garden in Suzhou is actually not large, but if you look closely, it's easy to get immersed and time flies quickly.
2. Each garden is basically at its most beautiful around 5 pm in terms of light and shadow, but you can only choose one each day.
3. Choose either a night tour of the Humble Administrator's Garden or the Master of the Nets Garden, if the weather is good and you can watch the sunset, the Humble Administrator's Garden is recommended, as the Master of the Nets Garden has more performances.
4. For watching the sunset at Jinji Lake, it is recommended to go to the Golden Water Bay Pier, which is much prettier.
5. Suzhou does not have an airport, you can only fly to Shanghai or Wuxi, if flying to Shanghai, there is a high-speed train directly to Suzhou. Choose a high-speed train station in Suzhou according to the area you want to visit (Suzhou North Station is close to Yangcheng Lake; Suzhou Industrial Park Station is close to Jinji Lake, Yangcheng Lake; Suzhou New District Station is close to Tai Lake and Tiger Hill; Suzhou Station is in the city area... there are also Yangcheng Lake Station, Kunshan Station, Taicang Station, etc., just understand that Suzhou's high-speed rail is extremely well-developed)
6. The night tour of the ancient canal is basically not recommended, as it is far inferior to the night tours of the Pearl River in Guangzhou, the Haihe River in Tianjin. In contrast, the night view of Jinji Lake is more beautiful.
The gardens that you didn't get a chance to visit this time, consider them a small regret, and save them for next time.

The magnolia flowers under the Gate of the Orient fully reveal the romance of Suzhou
I finally got a photo of the magnolia flowers with the 'big pants' building!
Taken on March 12th, real shot!
The combination of magnolia flowers and the Gate of the Orient,
is like a poem, a painting,
the romance of this city.
A gentle breeze blows,
and the petals fall softly,
like a fairy scattering flowers,
beautiful enough to take one's breath away.

Set off to Suzhou! Have a healing encounter with the national treasure panda~
🐼about Marriott Bonvoy
I took Wang Dangdang to participate in the Marriott Bonvoy exclusive moment event 'One Day Panda Keeper', it turns out that there are pandas in Suzhou too! In addition to receiving Wang Dangdang's exclusive work card and keeper certificate, we also unlocked a lot of little knowledge about pandas.
🏨about the hotel
This time I stayed at the Suzhou Renaissance Hotel, located in the Jinji Lake and Guanqian Street business circles, and the city landmark building 'Gate of the Orient' is on the same CBD axis. You can take a beautiful photo of the 'big pants' at the hotel entrance, or you can citywalk, and walk to enjoy the beauty of Jinji Lake. Staying in such an international brand hotel for a weekend stroll is my first choice.
The room facing the Central Park is both warm and textured, with many parent-child elements, you can enjoy the wonderful parent-child time.
🦀about food
The crab season is here, the hotel's recent 'Crab Crab Nong' themed buffet dinner is not to be missed, eat all you can eat hairy crabs, each is full and sweet, and there are all kinds of seafood, eat until you need to lean on the wall to leave~
How can you not eat noodles when you come to Suzhou? The special noodle stall in the R Restaurant is not to be missed, a bowl of clear and delicious Suzhou-style noodles, it is a great enjoyment! In the evening, the hotel will also prepare a night bed service for you in your spare time, the zongzi sugar and chicken head rice sweet soup is simply a surprise that warms the stomach and the heart.
This 'One Day Panda Keeper' Marriott Bonvoy exclusive event brought us to Taihu Wetland Park. As a national wetland park, two star pandas live here - New Moon and Bamboo Rhyme, both of them are not small~ New Moon is the daughter of the panda 'Panpan' that the Chinese people are most familiar with, and Bamboo Rhyme is the current top stream - the talkative conspicuous package 'Golden Tiger's mother, the moment you see them, your heart is melted!
Should it be difficult to have such an opportunity? Under the guidance of the keeper, Wang Dangdang personally made cornbread for the panda, and finally kneaded it into various shapes. Making food for the panda requires very precise. We also watched a documentary on panda science education and learned that many people in China are working hard for the living environment of pandas.
At the end of the event, I also received an honorary certificate issued by the Suzhou Taihu Panda Science Museum, and was awarded the title of 'Panda Guardian', making this trip worthwhile!
