🐍 This year is the Year of the Snake, and the first Spring Festival to be recognized as a World Intangible Cultural Heritage! After much deliberation, I decided to take my kids to Beijing as soon as the winter vacation started! Is there anywhere more festive than Beijing? Take your kids to the scenes in their Chinese textbooks and experience the joy of Chinese New Year!
.

DAY 3: Shichahai - Tsinghua University - Return - Jinan

👧【Guomao with Kids】
Please note that the outdoor ice rink at Shichahai is great, but if you can't get there by 8 am to start queuing, like me, I suggest you give up and go to the indoor ice rink at Guomao instead. There's no queue, the price is reasonable, and we saw several kids figure skating, they were amazing!
Weekdays 40/90min, not many people, good value for money, tickets only include skates, free storage, you can rent protective gear, we can skate so we didn't rent, had a great time.
After skating, take your kids to the terrace on the 6th floor of Guomao North to check in at the CCTV building.

🏨【Renaissance Beijing Capital Hotel】
🚶 About 1.5 km walk from Guomao, one subway stop (Line 10 Guomao - Shuangjing)
🏖️ Renaissance Beijing Capital Hotel is now offering a free extra bed for executive double/twin rooms, which is especially friendly for family trips, and more cost-effective for families with two children, as one room can accommodate up to 4 breakfasts, and as we all know, the breakfast at Renaissance Beijing Capital Hotel is great!
🍽️ We came back from Guomao and went to the Yat Court Chinese Restaurant on the 4th floor for dinner! We chose the double Hong Kong-style hot pot, the seafood and vegetables were so fresh. My daughter loves swimming, so she went swimming in the evening, and lazy mom can soak in the hot water pool next to her! Don't forget to check in at the gym on the 27th floor for a view of the China Zun, overlooking the Beijing CBD.
🍳 Breakfast is from 6:30-10:00 am, which is great if you want to get up early to travel, we are lazy, wake up naturally, and then enjoy breakfast. There are a variety of breakfast options, with ten types of Eggs Benedict to choose from, and they now have a new "Peking Duck Flavor" Eggs Benedict, which is super creative. The most popular is the freshly squeezed vegetable and fruit juice, I like the homemade yogurt, and the hand-brewed coffee is also very fragrant!
🧧 The hotel is now full of Chinese New Year atmosphere, you can experience writing couplets and the character "Fu" at the check-in area, and you can also get a free "Fu" character to take home, Chinese New Year "Fu" is here!
.
Happy Chinese New Year!
Best wishes for you!
