Rocky mountains Yesterday had the opportunity to travel from Glenwood Springs to Denver, passing through the Rocky Mountains National Park. The total journey takes 6.5 hours, with the scenery along the way dominated by the mountains and the Colorado river. The California Zephyr train departs from Glenwood Springs after a long journey from Emeryville and will be heading to Chicago as a final stop. Booking tickets from the Amtrak app the day before, for 89$, including expensive because even then you get a seat at the lower level, usually the normal price is around 47$. During the trip we can enjoy the view from the observation coach, and are given 2 hours to hang out and enjoy the outside view. The areas that are passed are areas in the middle of nowhere, the cellphone signal is also not affordable, so what we can do is enjoy the view while accompanied by snacks sold in the canteen (the canteen does not accept cash, only cards). Great time with friends and family. My family and I love going out and about in the town and love going everywhere around the world. Great great times. We have been to many many states and we are proud to say that Colorado is the best state we have ever been to. Amazing people amazing food and amazing atmosphere. Today experienced this free entrance park located at the west of Colorado Springs - GARDEN OF THE GODS. This park offer an unique and spectacular scenery,. There are rocks of red sandstone with various formations and shapes surrounded by greenery. Through your imagination, you can view many kinds of animals or creatures. Many tourists will like to visit when they are in Colorado. I had taken this winter as my experience to visit but be caution to wear enough to keep you warm as it is much windy and cold during this period. Worth the trip up to this hill park. We recently experienced a sudden and unexpected family loss which made the thought of celebrating the 2023 Thanksgiving & Christmas holidays at home unbearable. Although the Element Downtown Colorado Springs was only 20 minutes away, my wife, daughter and I felt this would be the perfect staycation to provide an alternative atmosphere. What a cheerful and uplifting experience this was! From the moment we arrived we were uplifted by the bright, decorative and cheerful decor and staff. Assistant manager (PUA) provided a free upgrade to the one bedroom commons full living room/kitchen suite which made our Thanksgiving hosting with family and friends go beautifully and front desk staff member (ROCIO) checked on our well-being frequently from the morning of our arrival alerting us our suite was ready for a very early check-in all the way through our departure. There is no doubt whatsoever that the Element will be our "home away from home" as we navigate through this difficult time for our family moving forward. We would be remiss if we didn't also recognize the assistant manager (FRITZIE) who provided a tour the week before our stay so that we could make sure our upgraded suite would accommodate all of us for Thanksgiving and Christmas as well as the Lumen 8 rooftop restaurant manager (KIM) who was also so compassionate and accommodating during our stay.
