It was for the Red Lotus Lake in Ulong Tani that this trip was made. Crossing mountains and seas, admiring the crimson lake.

🌟Highlight features:
From December to March of the following year, 50,000 acres of red lotus bloom. When I went there on February 10th, the flowers were still blooming nicely. But it's easy to imagine that a month earlier would be even better.
Departing at 5:30 in the morning, speeding on the pitch-black rural road, the driver even took the wrong turn, and I used Google Maps to guide him back...
📝Attention tips:
Red Lotus Lake has no entrance fee. Double boats cost 300 baht, and four-person boats cost 500 baht for a tour of one and a half hours.
It's best to go in the early morning. After 10am, the flowers will close.
🚉Transportation guide:
Red Lotus Lake is about 40 kilometers away from the downtown of Udon Thani and requires a chartered car to get there. You can find taxis at the entrance of the largest shopping mall in the downtown area, with a round-trip fare of 1200 baht. Some hotels can also help arrange drivers, but it may be slightly more expensive.
Bangkok can be directly flown to Udon, which takes about an hour. Alternatively, you can take a train or bus, which takes about ten hours.

Ulong is close to the border city of Langkai in Thailand. After the tour, you can enter Vientiane from Langkai or vice versa.
