I will recommend Raffles City area to avoid the crowd as the areas here are mainly outdoor. You might get trapped at Marina Bay when the traffic crowd management is in action. At least you can look up into the skies for the fireworks at Raffles City area. The Raffles City Tower has many celebrations ongoing and you can get the best picture taken here. There was a lot of good food out there. We grab some finger food while taking our walk. We came across popular brands such as the cocoa tree and Godiva for gifts and chocolate. We also came across our favorite bengawan solo store where I purchased their fragrance pandan chiffon cake to try. It is a great place to dine in as the ambiance was great. We also had an ice cream at the long queue venchi. They have an assortment of flavours to choose from. They taste yummy and we love it.

#mysgmemories Tenjin is one of the legendary restaurants in Raffles City. It’s created by the well known Les Amis group who’s also the owner of Michelin Starred restaurants. I recently had the privilege and was lucky enough to snag a table at TENJIN! There’s usually a snaking long queue but on the day I went it was pretty quick. Orders were taken at the door before you enter and it’ll be served to you quite efficiently. I ordered the INANIWA UDON SET and it was so good! The batter was so thin yet so crunchy. The vegetables were FRESH and they were very generous with the udon. The pieces of Ebi and Fish were BIG! Udon was nice and chewy, just the way I like it. Awfully Chocolate is a Singapore homegrown local dessert shop specializing in delicious, moist dusty chocolate cake! It is famous and there are many outlets all across the country, so it is very easy to find one. This branch at Raffles City Shopping Mall is the most memorable one for me because during the Christmas season, they created a whole series of Harry Potter exclusive desserts in collectible tins! Harry Potter fans flocked to the outlet to get products like chocolate wands and Marauder Map cookies. Plus they were super yummy too. Well, Lucia Cakes shop is so incredibly well known for their famous brownies that they have opened a shop at basement 1 of Raffles shopping mall, just selling brownies alone. This brownie specialty shop is called Lucia The Brownie Bar and you can expect various brownie boxes such as their non nutty brownie box or nutty brownie box, which comes in 4 different flavours. If you prefer 1 flavour brownie, you can choose from triple chocolate brownie or their salted dark chocolate brownie. These boxes also comes in different sizes from 16 pieces box to 64 pieces box and price starts from $22 onwards. It may seem price is kind of steep for a simple box of brownies but I beg to differ as Lucia's brownies are one of the best. These little bite size treats are decadent, sinful and moist. You can't help but want more of their brownies. I love their non nutty brownies and that's what I always buy. That box consists of biscoff, oreo, triple chocolate & salted caramel flavoured brownies. Price per Person - $30-40 Rating - 4/5 At times, I crave for a bowl of warm delicious Japanese rice topped with crispy tempura and that's when I head over to Tenjin restaurant at basement 1 of Raffles City Shopping mall. Tenjin restaurant is a casual dining place that specializes in fried tempura. You can choose to have your tempura with rice or hot/cold udon. For every set that you order, it also comes with a bowl of miso and Japanese salad. My kids love this restaurant to bits as their tempura are fried to perfection and it is not greasy. Every bite comes with a crisp and everything is served hot. I do not like my food cold. We would order Inaniwa udon set and premium set. Their tempura includes fried prawns, crab, assorted vegetables, fish, etc. The whole meal keeps you very full and most importantly, it keeps you satisfied. Price per Person - $30-40 Rating - 4/5 Surrey Hills Grocer cafe has just opened a new outlet on the 3rd floor of Raffles City Shopping mall and again, this new outlet is equally well hidden but it serves the most amazing Sunday brunch with huge portions. Their food is not just unpretentious but great for sharing with family and friends. The cafe has those australia cafe feels and everything served was fresh and yummy. A small section of the cafe even sells fresh produce and some other groceries. I came here with my family for Sunday brunch and we had a lovely time catching up and dining at surrey hills grocer. Service was also a plus point as service was exceptional and fast. We ordered their lobster Mac and cheese, which was creamy and cheesy, while their dry laksa pasta had the right amount of spice and flavour. Their truffle cheese fries is a must order, super delicious! Desserts, they have a great selection of ice cream, pastries, donuts and cakes. We tried their chocolate tart which was rich and chocolatey, my kids loved it! If you want something unique for drinks, do try their blue coral latte. Swissotel is conveniently located at Raffles City and has an amazing view of the bay area. The rooms are modern, big and well stocked though the power plugs seem loose. They also share swimming pools and the gym with Fairmont so it can get crowded at the pool. My wife called me to join her for dinner when she was in Raffles City. She suggested to eat at Nam Nam Noodle Bar. Thus, after work, I went to find her. I always love the soup from the pho and the coffee of Vietnamese dishes. That's what we ordered. She ordered the vegetarian pho while I ordered the chicken pho. They were very delicious. Tipsy Flamingo, located at Raffles City serves creative fusion food with a live band that comes to life at night. Cool interior with the neon-pink poolside bar-themed restaurant! The food is good but a little pricey given how small the portion is. Tad loud indoors, but they have outdoor seats if you'd prefer to have a serious conversation. Excellent for a chill night out. Price per Person: $30 Rating: 4/5 First time visiting this restaurant as it is usually crowded but managed to get in today with only 3 people in queue. Sat on a high bench but it was okay, not uncomfortable. The food is not bad for the price. I tried the chirashi Don with the sides dishes which they called power up. Honestly I enjoyed the variety of the various sides more the chirashi. The beef side dish we ordered was also surprisingly good, the wasabi had a good kick! The mochi was mango with coconut shavings, delicious. Will be back to try their yakiniku and unagi dons next time. If you are staying in the town area, such as the city hall , you can start by exploring the raffles city. There are retail outlets, restaurants , and arts exhibition galleries there. You can then walk towards the world war memorial hall where you will see several statues there of those who took part in the world war time. You can then walk towards the esplanade during the night time to take pictures with the merlion and have a great view of the Singapore river. You can end the night with some drinks at the orchard cafe and bars there.

#familytrips2024 The raffles city shopping mall is located at the city hall train station. I like to visit the basement area where there is a cs fresh supermarket as well as many restaurants. The din tai Feng is one of them that I would recommend to try. If you are looking for pandan cake, I would recommend you to visit the bengawan solo in the basement area. You can also try out the old chang kee local snacks. Their chicken wings are nice too. Our dream destination is to visit Ho chi Minh, at their district 5, which is nearby to their Chinatown area .

#thingstodo I tried Omote's restaurant recently, ordered the Salmon Booster Chirashi Rice Bowl, Karatsuki Scallop Motoyaki, Ikura Chawanmushi, and Black Truffle Chawanmushi. The salmon bowl stood out, a flavourful highlight. #2024wish I would like to visit Bangkok city. I would like to visit their shopping mall such as the central world, Siam Paragon, platinum mall, and their icon Siam. I would like to try out their local dishes such as the phad Thai and the tom yum soup there. I will definitely buy back their seaweed and floss biscuit as well as coconut sweets back to share with my friends and family members. The raffles city shopping mall is one that has many retail outlets and dining restaurants. There are also two hotels located above the shopping mall. It would be a great place to stay in. You can also find a supermarket in the basement of the mall too.

#2024wish My 2024 travel wish is to visit Tokyo. I would like to try out their food there such as their salmon tuna sashimi and their tempura there. I would like to stay at their local accommodation house too. I hope to buy back their local produced snacks and share them with my friends and family members here. If you are interested in visiting the Micky mouse exhibition, then you should visit the raffles city shopping centre. You would be able to find the exhibition there at level 3. The beautiful decoration of the exhibition gallery would definitely catch your attention there.

#2024wish Part of my 2023 birthday celebrations was at Raffles City. We had lunch at Nuodle when we had their delicious noodles. My wife also brought me to Calvin Klein to buy a wallet as a birthday present. This celebration certainly was one of the highlights of my 2023. In 2024, I hope I can celebrate my birthday overseas with my wife at a beach resort, chilling.
