Tranquil Visit in a Hidden Taoist Temple!🇨🇳
#timetotravel
This is Qingyang Palace or West Gate in Chengdu. It is a quiet temple compared to all the temples I have visited in Chengdu. From the outside, one would think that this is a tiny temple but upon entering and strolling aroung we then realized that this place is actually massive with the grounds and temples being very well kept. There are monks inside so please be mindful of your proper conduct there.
Entrance Fee: 10 rmb (double check, they might have changed this already)
Address: Section 2 Western First circle Street, Qingyang District.

Hot Autum-Tea in Qingyang's Tea-Garden
Qingyang Palace or Qingyang Gong is not only one of the most famous temples in Chengdu with a lot of history in Buddhism, it's also a park, a garden and has a wonderful Tea-garden, where you can experience local Chengdu tea culture. 🍵
They offer (seasonal) tea and small snacks and unlimited hot water.
💰 Expect to pay about 25-50 RMB, depending on the tea and season.
📍 Close to the subway station Qingyang Palace. The tea garden is in the north of the park.
🕛 It's open from morning till evening. I recommend to spend about two hours there. But you can also sip your tea for the whole day!

This is the spring of Chengdu under the Qingyang Palace, where a plum blossom rain has fallen
I went twice just to wait for the flowers to bloom.
It happened to rain.
Standing under the tree, there is an even stronger sense of ancient beauty.
There was a group of old masters on the scene.
It is very suitable for sisters who love to take photos or want to take photos with an ancient style.
The flowers are now in full bloom on the trees.
This weekend is the best time to go~

The Premier Taoist Temple in Western Sichuan
Qingyang Palace: The premier Taoist temple in Western Sichuan and the foremost forest of temples in the Southwest, it is one of the famous Taoist temples in the country.
Qingyang Palace was founded during the Zhou Dynasty, originally named Qingyang Si. The halls built during the Ming and Tang dynasties were destroyed in military disasters. Most of the existing buildings were reconstructed during the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty.
The Eight Trigrams Pavilion in Qingyang Palace is well-preserved and exquisitely designed, enshrining a statue of Laozi riding a green ox. The most precious cultural relic in the palace, the Daozang Jiyao, is the most complete version preserved in the world.

'The First Taoist Temple in Western Sichuan'---Qingyang Palace
Qingyang Palace was founded during the Western Zhou Dynasty, originally named Qingyang Si, later Qingyang Temple, and Xuanzhong Temple. As a famous Taoist temple, why is Qingyang Palace not called Qingyang Temple anymore?
It turns out that it was because Emperor Xizong of Tang took refuge here from the chaos of Huang Chao's forces, allocated treasury silver for major renovations of the temple buildings, and decreed to change its name to the current 'Qingyang Palace'. (A house where the emperor has stayed is called a 'palace', naturally)
.
Metro Line 5 Qingyang Palace Station Exit C:10
Tour Duration: 1.5h
.
Special Services: Qingyang Palace fortune-telling, 20 for interpretation; Qingyang Palace Tea House
Drink Taoist tea and eat vegetarian meals
.
Now the peach blossoms are flourishing, on the right side of the Sanqing Hall is just a small peach orchard, but the branches are low and easy to photograph.
Inside Qingyang Palace, it's like a small garden park, suitable for strolling and climbing hills, serene and elegant.
Each palace enshrines revered deities, and contemporary young people, between classes and work, have chosen to 'offer incense'!!! (Everyone can receive three sticks of incense for free)

Qingyang Palace / Seek a quiet place for a moment of tranquility
In Chengdu|Seek a quiet place for a moment of tranquility.
Known as the 'First Taoist Temple in Western Sichuan', Qingyang Palace is located in the central area of Chengdu. It is both a long-standing Taoist temple and a classical garden.
Legend has it that Qingyang Palace was first built during the Zhou Dynasty, initially named Qingyang Si, a market for selling cattle and sheep. Later, as Taoism gradually rose in Sichuan, a Taoist temple was built here at some unknown time. By the end of the Tang Dynasty, Emperor Xizong of Tang fled to Sichuan to avoid war, and set up his palace in the Taoist temple, hence the temple became a 'palace temple', and the name of Qingyang Palace began to spread. Over the long years, many buildings were destroyed by war, until the Qing Dynasty Kangxi years, the palace was gradually rebuilt, and Qingyang Palace became an important Taoist temple in Chengdu and even the entire southwestern region.
The main buildings of Qingyang Palace are arranged along the central axis, from south to north are the mountain gate, Lingzu Hall, Hunyuan Hall, Bagua Pavilion, Sanqing Hall, Doumu Hall, Jade Emperor Hall and Tangwang Pavilion.

Ancient ginkgo shooting locations in downtown Chengdu
1. The courtyard of the Cultural Palace is quite Japanese-style, and the photos taken do not look like Chengdu, but you need to pay attention to the framing to avoid messy backgrounds.
2. Qingyang Palace has a 10 yuan ticket, which includes three incense sticks. There are fewer people on weekdays. Keep going inside, walk to Laozhuang Academy, there are two huge ancient ginkgo trees, one is yellow, and the other is still green. Few people, beautiful scenery. Bring a cup of coffee, the photos taken are particularly emotional.

Enjoying autumn at Qingyang Palace
Qingyang Palace was first built during the Shang and Zhou dynasties, flourished during the Tang and Song dynasties, and has a deep Taoist historical background and cultural characteristics. As the first Taoist temple in western Sichuan, the first forest in the southwest, and the ancestral home of Dantai Bihole, Qingyang Palace is currently the oldest and largest Taoist temple in Chengdu, and is also one of the famous Taoist temples nationwide.
The current Qingyang Palace was built during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. The incense here is strong, the Taoist atmosphere is very strong, because it is not the regular route of the tour group, it seems relatively quiet, and it is a place for locals to relax.
Ticket: 10 yuan/person. As the 'first Taoist temple in western Sichuan', the ancient trees reach the sky, the red walls and green tiles are matched with golden ginkgo, and the autumn atmosphere is full. This autumn, go to the ancient temple with your family to feel the golden autumn.
Important buildings in Qingyang Palace include 'Lingzu Hall, Qiankun Hall, Bagua Pavilion, Sanqing Hall, Doumu Hall, Tangwang Hall, and there are Laozi Birth Platform and Dharma Platform on both sides. Not far to the west of Qingyang Palace are Sichuan Museum, Du Fu Thatched Cottage and other attractions, which can be visited together.

Sichuan Tourism|The world and I were born from the well, and all things are one with me
- Chengdu Qingyang Palace. Chengdu Qingyang Palace has a very long history, known as the first Taoist temple in western Sichuan. It was built during the Zhou Dynasty and was originally named Qingyang Si. By the Ming Dynasty, the temples built during the Tang Dynasty were destroyed in the war. The most precious cultural relic is a 'Daozang Jiyao', which is the most complete version in the world and has become a precious material for studying Taoism.
Precautions: ⚠️
1. Foreign incense is not allowed in the temple, you can get free incense on the right hand side after entering the door.
2. The Taoist temple is very large, divided into Qingyang Palace, Erxian Temple, and garden area, be sure to walk around more.
3. I personally think that the fortune-telling sticks of Qingyang Palace are quite spiritual, but the Taoist priests are concise, the style is just like that, and the fortune-telling sticks can be burned after the interpretation.
🎫Ticket: 10 yuan for adults (attached to the last picture)
Vegetarian meal: 15 yuan for three vegetarian dishes
Fortune-telling sticks: 20 yuan

Qingyang Palace is a group of ancient Taoist buildings with profound historical heritage. It is not only known as the first view of western Sichuan, but also famous throughout the country. Qingyang District, one of the five cities in Chengdu, is named after the Qingyang Palace. It was built in the Zhou Dynasty, formerly known as Qingyang Temple, and was expanded during the Tang Dynasty. It was destroyed in the Ming Dynasty. Most of the existing buildings were rebuilt six to ten years in the Qing Dynasty. The environment is beautiful and the atmosphere is quiet. Both believers and ordinary citizens like to walk in it. At the same time, sculptures and stone monuments retain the traditional Taoist style.

The two layers on the balusters of the Bagua Pavilion are octagonal. Each layer of cockroaches is engraved with lions, elephants, tigers, and leopards, and various animal objects are set on the slanting corners of the male. The roof is yellow, green and purple glazed tile, and the roof lotus petals set off the unique glass hoist Baoding.

Qingyang Palace is a place that exceeds expectations. In fact, there is no special plan. It is a sudden decision to come here in a nothing afternoon, so I will come by bus.
The gate of Qingyang Palace is on the side of the road. It can be said to be a quiet place. In the summer, the flowers of various colors are full of vitality and full of beauty. There are very few tourists in the garden, and the antique pavilion is more Zen-like in the cluster of plants.
Walk here, the atmosphere is quiet.
Qingyang Palace is the first view of western Sichuan. It has a long history and was built in the Zhou Dynasty and is called Qingyang. After several damages and reconstructions, the existing Taoist temples were restored from the Qing Dynasty. There are many palaces in the Taoist temple, and there are many different gods, and I don't mean to go to Qingyang Palace. I love the quiet atmosphere here.
There is a certain distance between a temple and a temple in the Qingyang Palace. The stairs are downhill along the way, the landscape is patchy, and it is carefully designed, of course, its status is more visible.
The rain suddenly got bigger. I stopped and simply sat on the promenade outside the main hall to watch the rain.
Summer rain is pleasing, it will not continue to linger, but suddenly brings a cool and then left. The rain fell from the eaves, and in the world of the slow door, a pair of silver wires rushed to the earth, and the surrounding plants were washed by the rain. They absorbed the rain.
I put down the camera and sat on the bench and listened to the rain. The wet wind wrapped my body, and I closed my eyes and felt comfortable. This summer afternoon, listening to the rain, stayed in my Chengdu. in memory.

Chengdu Qingyang Palace is one of the famous Taoist temples in China, most of which were built in the Qing Dynasty. Its said that its big and small, and its close to the Cultural Park. Tickets cost only 10 yuan. The most famous one is the two bronze cast green sheep at the entrance of Sanqing Temple. The white sheep on the left can cure all diseases and touch the same painful place on the body. I heard that it can be reduced a lot.
