Shanghai's forgotten treasure, a lesser-known attraction - Qingxi Ancient Town
Qingxi Old Street was formed in the Yuan Dynasty, developed in the Ming Dynasty, flourished in the Qing Dynasty, and prospered in the Republic of China, with a history of over 1400 years.
The total length of Qingxi Old Street is 1.3 kilometers, running through East Street, Middle Street, and West Street. The bluestone slab road shows the historical vicissitudes of the old street. The ancient town still retains 6 ancient bridges from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, including Zhonghe Bridge, Guangji Bridge, Sanzhu Bridge, Yongshou Bridge, Nanhong Bridge, and Jifang Bridge. You can also take a boat tour of the entire ancient town.

Shanghai - Fengxian District - 2765 Nanfeng Highway, Qingxi Old Street in Qingcun Town
🚗 It is recommended to drive by yourself, public transportation seems inconvenient (it takes more than an hour from the city to Fengxian)
🅿️ Qingxi Old Street parking lot, the price seems quite cheap, 9 yuan for more than two hours. There are also cars parked on the roadside, but for safety reasons, the parking lot is safer. It takes about 5 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the town.
🎫 No need for tickets, it's free

Recommended for visit:
1. Ancient town buildings, bridges: Wanghai Building, Nanyuan, Yang Gaojing and Yang Kungao's residence, Nanhong Bridge, etc.
2. Newly opened shops: Jiumu Miscellaneous Society, Qingxi Time Post Office, Qingxi Tucloth Museum, Qingxi Book Bar
Recommended food:
1. Zhuji Haitang Cake, very delicious, made and sold now, grandparents are operating, very careful, not in a hurry, very retro taste, 3 yuan each, the price is very cheap.
2. Cultural and creative ice cream, bought from Wanghai Building, the taste is average, but very cute. Many styles are sold out, depending on luck to buy which one, more than twenty yuan each, the price of ice cream assassins, this is the only food in the ancient town that feels a bit expensive.
3. Bamboo Forest Ice Cream Milk Tea, at the entrance of the old street, many people are queuing, the style is very eye-catching, but the taste is average, the amount is very large... it looks good for taking pictures.
4. Blue Sky Coffee - Time Post Office, it was not officially open when I went, postcards could not be mailed, their second floor terrace is small but beautiful
5. Road Mom's Chongyang Cake, their grass cakes are also very delicious, fried in oil, glutinous, four yuan each.
Although it is less popular and has fewer people, it can better feel the simplicity and retro of the real local ancient streets in the south of the Yangtze River. Every point can be slowly felt and remembered. Walking on the stone road, looking at the familiar houses, there is a trance of traveling back to the flowing years.
