Puer: A local's travel guide.
Recently, some tourists have asked me for a travel guide to Puer!
I wonder how they found this small city on the southwest border. Is Puer going to be popular?
So, here's a guide from a local's perspective.
: Transportation
Plane - Puer Station (transfer from Kunming to Puer)
High-speed rail - Puer Station (3.5 hours from Kunming to Puer)
In the city - Taxi, shared bike, chartered car for surrounding tours
: Attractions
① Puer Sun River National Park - 4A Scenic Area
(Tickets required, additional fees for interacting with animals in the park. The red pandas are adorable. If you like nature, you can spend half a day here.)
② Nake Ancient Tea Horse Road
(No tickets required. The scenery is quaint, with some tea houses and cafes. The area is not large, so half a day is enough for a leisurely stroll.)
③ China Puer Tea Expo Garden - 4A Scenic Area
(Tickets required. The ecological tea garden is full of greenery and fresh air. You can experience tea picking and simple tea making.)
④ Jingmai Mountain Ancient Tea Forest - World Heritage Site
(No tickets required. The journey is long, so a two-day chartered car tour is recommended. If you have time, I highly recommend visiting, as the scenery changes with the seasons.)
: City Walk
Dai Family Lane / Puer Old Street / Administrative Office / Supply and Marketing Cooperative Warehouse
Meizi Lake Park / Tea Mountain Viewing Platform / Xima River Wetland Park
