Simple Fashion: Stylish • Breaking No Identity Label🥳 Sustainable fabric👕VINCENT LI "Breaking Rock & Skin II" One of my favorite fashion brands 🥰🥰🥰
I was immersed in the 1980s-90s Hong Kong fashion designers full of creative diversity, from the old site of the New World Center, to Bailey, Le Time, Heng Fung, many famous Hong Kong fashion designers were also born here, but thirty years later, many people are also asking Hong Kong fashion is dead?
There are outstanding designers in Hong Kong, but there are very few who can become famous after taking root in Hong Kong and then promoting their designs around the world.
Vincent Li, who currently lives in Hong Kong and studied and worked in the information technology industry in Melbourne, Australia, has always loved art and fashion design and studied fashion design in his spare time. She joined JW Anderson as an internship in 2013 and later established her eponymous brand, VINCENT LI, in 2014. Vincent, who has always enjoyed drawing and photography, put his paintings and photos into fashion design, matching layers of black awesome fun exquisite cuts, fashion can be multiple disassembly, change! For example, using different parts to combine fashion, the sleeves can be removed to add the skirt part, some designed as a skirt is also sleeves, very fresh and creative!
The use of color on the main tone is mostly black, also spelled with highlight patterns and color eye-catching jewelry design, are so that fashion can become your unique outfit.
[Zero Burden of Clothing • Never Goes Out of Style]
Vincent: "I hope that every piece of clothing is not gender or age, or men's and women's clothing, can be worn by anyone, regardless of age, no gender label; and the materials used are from the concept of continuous environmental protection, wearing clothes should not be zero burden, no matter in the textural weight of the shirt will not be a burden on the body, and there will be no burden in the spirit, the shirt will never go out of style because it can be disassembled and pieced together with my own unique style."
I hope you can meet fashion designer VINCENT LI, who is committed to promoting "gender integration" and "sustainable fashion". He has launched a new autumn/winter 2022/23 fashion collection called "Broken Rock & Skin 2.0" EXHIBITION”, showcasing his thought-breaking design inspiration, leading viewers to further explore more possibilities for “breaking through the structure of gender and fashion”.
The title of this exhibition - "Broken", means "break, break through, break through". Messages that advocate stepping out of your personal comfort zone and breaking through traditional gender concepts and norms. By combining sustainable fabrics such as: eel leather, NaiaTM and OEKO-TEX®, with exclusive digital prints as the main theme, the exhibition subverts society's stereotypes of men's and women's clothing with a deep three-dimensional sense.
Break THE ROCK & SKIN EXHIBITION opening reception
Breaking Model X Breaking Fashion
The opening reception of the exhibition featured three “alternative models”: silver-haired model LISA · 1958, albino model Kenny Wong and non-mainstream model Tanya to perform an “alternative fashion show”. They unintentionally, like VINCENT LI, have an attitude of life that is unwilling to accept the status quo, dares to challenge, and strives to live their own lives.
Eel skin - in the ingredients even wasted costume materials? Vincent was one of the first local fashion designers in Hong Kong to use eel leather in their designs.
Think Positive Digital Printing Technology - Printing is possible with this patented technology even with only a small amount of fabric. Thereby reducing the generation of excess textiles, water and chemicals and other waste materials throughout the process.
NaiaTM - Derived from sustainably managed pine and eucalyptus forests and plantations, produced using a safe closed-loop process in which a solvent return circulation system is available for reuse. In addition, its manufacturing process is ISO 14044 compliant, ensuring minimal environmental impact while reducing tree-to-fiber carbon emissions and water consumption.
OEKO-TEX® Certified Materials - All textiles and leathers used by the brand meet OEKO-TEX® standards and requirements regarding human ecological safety.
In addition to videos showing Vincent sharing explanations, print samples and design silhouettes, the scene also facilitated in-depth exchange and interaction between him and other creators and brands. In line with the brand’s pursuit of inclusiveness and diversity, Vincent has collaborated with different creatives and brands to create a series of collaborative artworks on display. There are also workshops where viewers can unleash their unlimited creativity and improvise and process semi-finished garments to create a one-of-a-kind work of art.
Selections from VINCENT LI’s past works will also be rotating during the exhibition to document his journey of fashion change. Works are also sold during the exhibition.
