All Trip Moments about Isola del Giglio
Isola del Giglio: the Mediterranean dream that only Italians know!
Step off the ferry and onto Isola del Giglio for a dreamy outdoor adventure! 🏝️✨ This rugged Tuscan island is a paradise for trekking lovers—think wild Mediterranean scents, dramatic sea views, and ancient stone villages all waiting to be explored on foot. Lace up your hiking boots for an unforgettable day along panoramic trails and through Giglio’s authentic heart.
Start your trek in Giglio Castello, winding through narrow lanes to grab a tasty energy boost at La Cisterna Storie di Cibo...e DiVino (Via della Cisterna, 12)—the homemade focaccia is a legit treat! 🍞 Continue heading out along Via delle Mura to Fonte Selvaggia, a tranquil (and shady!) green spot that’s perfect for a quick break, especially midday when the sun gets fierce.
From here, follow the paths towards Pertuso (Via di Mezzo Franco), immersing yourself in the scents of wild herbs and catching glimpses of turquoise coves below. Don’t miss the ‘Panoramica’ viewpoint (Via Raffaello)—it’s an insta-worthy spot for sweeping island and sea shots 🟦📷, especially around golden hour.
Top trekking tips: Giglio’s trails are rocky and sometimes steep, so sturdy shoes are a must. Bring plenty of water—there are few refill points on route. In summer, plan your hike early or late to dodge midday heat. Mobile signals can be patchy, so offline maps help! And take it slow—tiny detours often reveal hidden beaches or secret gardens.
With every step you’ll fall harder for Giglio’s wild beauty and island charm. #IsolaDelGiglio #TrekkingItaly #Tuscany #CoastalWalks #HiddenGems #mediterranean #mediterraneanvibes

Cannelle Beach
#weekendgetaways
Small beach 15 minutes walk from the port. White sand and very clear water. Half of the beach is public while the second half is taken by a small bathhouse where you can rent umbrella and recliner (quite expensive). There is a small restaurant next to the beach serving pizzas and fish dishes and some coin operated showers for public use. Overall the place is great and highly recommended but cen get quite crowded during weekends and peak season.
