It was constructed in the 16th century following an original design by Michelangelo Buonarroti.

Blessed by God
From the outside this looks absolutely magnificent even though at the time I did not know what I was looking at. Going up the stairs you get a nice view of the coliseum and you can tell this is center of the city with the roundabout right in front of it. However there is not much to see inside in my opinion. Take your pictures from the outside and save yourself some time.#境外遊

Piazza Venezia
#bucketlistreboot
Piazza Venezia is at the foot of the Capitoline Hill and next to Trajan’s Forum. This was also the location of public speeches given by the Italian dictator Mussolini to his supporters in the 1920s-1940s.
Rome is a great destination and perfect for a city break. You can easily visit and see the top attractions in a weekend but if you have the chance, spend a long weekend here. It’s an easy city to fly to with hand luggage only and very easy to get around.
Rome really has the “wow” effect from the first day of your visit. With its amazing architecture, rich history and colossal buildings, this is definitely an European capital worth visiting at least once in your life.

Embodying Italian Unity: Exploring Piazza Venezia in Rome 🏛️
Piazza Venezia, nestled at the heart of Rome, stands as a symbol of Italian unity and pride, with its rich history dating back to the Middle Ages. 🇮🇹 Situated at the foot of the majestic Capitoline Hill, one of Rome's Seven Hills, the square underwent significant transformation in the late 19th and early 20th centuries to commemorate the unification and founding of Italy.
At the center of Piazza Venezia rises the magnificent Neoclassical Monumento Nazionale a Vittorio Emanuele II, affectionately known as the "Altare della Patria" or Altar of the Fatherland. 🏛️ Crafted from pure white marble sourced from Brescia Dali, this monumental structure bears the Latin inscription "Motherland reunification, freedom of the people" and features grand bronze statues symbolizing "thought" and "action."
Flanking the monument are two semi-circular fountains, each adorned with symbols of the Tyrrhenian and Adriatic Seas and crowned by monumental statues, including a striking depiction of Poseidon. 🌊 Rising above the fountains is a 12-meter-high equestrian statue of Victor Emmanuel II, the visionary leader who oversaw Italy's reunification.
Ascending behind the bronze statue is a 72-meter-long corridor lined with Corinthian stone columns, leading to an observation deck offering panoramic views of Rome's iconic skyline. 🏙️ Visitors can easily access Piazza Venezia via Rome's extensive public transport network, including the metro and sightseeing buses, or opt for a leisurely stroll from the nearby Termini railway station.
Exploring Piazza Venezia is a journey through Italy's rich cultural heritage, with nearby attractions such as the Capitoline Museum, the Roman Forum, and the Colosseum offering further insights into Rome's storied past. 🏛️🌿 Whether marveling at architectural marvels or soaking in the bustling atmosphere of the square, a visit to Piazza Venezia promises an unforgettable experience steeped in history and tradition. 🚶♂️🌟

Rome in the dusk
It is an honor to be able to visit Rome for the third time in October 2022.
Rome, this ancient city, is a city that you want to come back to. There are not only gladiatorial arenas, but almost the entire city is a historical relic. To be precise, Rome is a large museum. There is too little time to schedule, and I only arranged three days this time. I really left too many regrets. Although I have been there twice before, there are still too many things to understand and explore.
On the day of arrival in Rome, we visited the palace ruins and Venice Square in the afternoon. We didn't have much time, so we only enjoyed the view of the city of Rome bathed in the sunset glow from a high place.
