Phuket's Most Ethical Elephant Sanctuary
🐘 Phuket Elephant Sanctuary is one of a kind! Many elephant parks are tourist traps, where the elephants are treated in harsh conditions, but not this one! Phuket Elephant Sanctuary offers a variety of close encounters with these gentle giants, but puts their comfort and protection above all else.
🌳 This sanctuary provides the elephants with a home to call their own, with over 30 acres of land full of greenery and water for the elephants to roam freely. Above the trees is a 6 meter tall canopy walkway that takes you around the park, allowing for observation of the beautiful elephants while also respecting their space.
🍉 There are still many opportunities for you to get up close and personal with the elephants. You have the chance to feed the elephants, a once in a lifetime opportunity! The elephant happily and gently ate the fruit straight from my hand, it was amazing.
🌿 While part of your journey will be spent observing from above, there are also moments where your guide will take you through the sanctuary, bringing you face to face with the elephants. Be gentle, and you may get a chance to take a photo with them! Remember, this elephant sanctuary is very ethical, so if the elephant seems like it isn't enjoying the interaction, your guide will move you along.
✨Phuket Elephant Sanctuary truly exceeded my expectations. It was refreshing to see these elephants get a final home, where they aren't asked to perform or work, but are allowed to live life leisurely. This is THE place to go for elephants in Phuket. Help save the elephants!

Phuket Elephant Sanctuary
#songkran2024This was the best part of my holiday to Thailand. I loved every minute!
I researched ethical elephant sanctuaries before I went and took advice from The Responsible Traveller website.
This visit was well organised and professional from beginning to end.
It was not cheap - approx £65- but was well worth the money. The price included return transfer from the office to the sanctuary, free snacks and drinks on arrival, lockers for big bags, a small group guide around the sanctuary where we could get close to the elephants and a free meal at the end which was a great surprise and absolutely delicious. The highlight for me was being able to feed an elephant - which was also well organised and responsible.
The facilities were impeccable and super clean.
Well done to all the staff at the sanctuary.
