Christmas Hiking Queen Charlotte Track|||
|||. We set off from Wellington with a few friends and embarked on an exciting Queen Charlotte Track hiking trip! The whole journey is 73km, it took five days and four nights, although tired, but we all feel very happy and satisfied! Strongly recommend everyone to use the water taxi to transport luggage, so we only need to carry water and lunch snacks, much easier. If you have poor physical strength or bad knees, remember to bring hiking sticks and knee pads. The difficulty of this route is medium, but for those who lack hiking experience, it is recommended not to challenge yourself. If you can't hold on, you can also choose to take a boat back to Picton directly. In short, this is a very worthwhile hiking trip to try!💪💼🚢
In the afternoon of the first day, we arrived at Picton by ferry, rested for a night, and prepared for the upcoming hike.🌅🛥️
We set off at about eight o'clock in the morning on the second day, first took a boat to the starting point of the Queen Charlotte Track. On the way, we also played on the small island we passed by for an hour, and even saw cute little penguin babies! Then, we officially started hiking, the whole journey was 17km, and we arrived at our destination—Ship Cove-Furneaux Lodge at four in the afternoon. The accommodation here is very comfortable, there are singers and bars, we spent a pleasant time playing cards with our friends at night, then rested early to prepare for tomorrow's challenge. In the inn, we saw many tourists who came by boat for vacation, next time we have the chance, we also want to try!🚶♂️🏞️🏨🎶🎴
The third day was relatively easy, the whole journey was 13km, we walked to the vicinity of Punga Cove and stayed at Mahana Lodge. This hotel has no internet, but the scenery is very beautiful. Our friends also played boating, the hotel provides a simple breakfast, the owner is a former chef, dinner can be booked in advance, three dishes cost about 90 dollars.🌅⛵🌳🥐🍽️
The fourth day was a tough one, the whole journey was 23km. Although the knee was a bit painful, we persisted with the support of painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs. The weather was very good, and the scenery was very beautiful, we felt it was all worth it in the end. That night, we stayed at Portage Resort, the view from the accommodation was very charming, the room was a wooden house, just the lighting inside was a bit dim.🌞🏔️🏨🌌
It rained on the fifth day, and because we had to catch the afternoon ferry, due to the knee problem, I chose to take a boat back to Picton directly, while my friends continued to hike about 22km, and returned to Picton around three in the afternoon. Although there were some accidents in this hiking trip, the whole journey is still unforgettable.🌧️🛥️🚶♀️🌧️🚢
The scenery of the Queen Charlotte Track is unbeatable! Although there are more uphill and downhill sections, for friends with poor knee conditions, you still need to consider carefully. This trip also let us rediscover Picton, before we just thought it was a transit station in the South Island. Now we find that many people choose to take a boat to the resort, almost every hotel has a dock. The scenery here is stunning, very suitable for quietly dazing and enjoying the quiet time.😂🌅🌊🏝️
This hiking trip not only exercised our bodies, but also let us feel the charm of nature. I will always cherish this unforgettable experience and encourage more travel enthusiasts to bravely embark on their own hiking journey!🌲💪🌞🌿🚶♂️
