save this! think it’s not often that I say $22+ cafe food is worth the money cause i niao but oakscoffeeco is really worth it I LOVE the Laksa Orzo! perhaps it is the perfectly cooked orzo, the flavourful broth or the touch of the cold coconut cream but it all comes together in a masterpiece ($22+). it’s a good portion and I find myself finishing it and thinking, “no more liao ah?”. Yes, cause it’s that good. #singaporetrip SPECIALTY COFFEE BAR & RESTAURANT ALONG UPPER THOMSON! ☕️🪵 By the same folks behind @thekinscafe, Oaks Coffee Co is the latest among the café haven of Upper Thomson - and just in time for Christmas! 🎄Taking over the space that was previously occupied by Habitat Coffee, Oaks is built to serve not just specialty coffee, but also an all-day menu featuring Asian fusion café delights. 🍳 The decor is a mix of Scandinavian and modern Victorian, with tinted mirror walls and wooden accents. 🪵 We had the 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗮, which we assume is their take on the café staple - Aglio Olio. The pasta is cooked nicely with a nice garlicky aroma. The polenta chip is an interesting addition, giving the dish a slight crunch. 🧄 The 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝘀𝗮 𝗢𝗿𝘇𝗼 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗮 is more like a risotto but has a strong familiar flavour of 𝘭𝘢𝘬𝘴𝘢 spice, which is pretty good! 🥘 The 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 & 𝗖𝗮𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲 is an interesting addition for a café. The chicken is moist, but we’re expecting more “𝘸𝘰𝘬 𝘩𝘦𝘺” when it comes to fried rice. 🍳 #trip #cafe

#singaporetrip Eating is my favorite hobby haha and the most recent cafe I was able to try in Thomson is Oaks Coffee Co. The cafe has a cute gray-ish teal store-front with indoor and outdoor seating area. I went on a Saturday and the cafe is packed but the wait time was only short. Upon entering, you can tell that the cafe is busy. There are 2 levels of seating inside but has an open-concept type so it doesn't feel suffocated despite the small space. Most of the 1st level floor space is taken by the counter. I loved seeing the staff work so on my next visit, I will seat by the counter. The bar seats facing the stairs are nice too. The food overall is nice considering my colleague's review. My colleague raved about the cafe cot dua by the way which is making me want to visit again and try. The prices are typical cafe food prices but the serving size is definitely filling. The cafe can be reached via public and private transport with the nearest msrt station being Thomson of brown line.

#singapore Really cozy cafe with a nice layout and chill vibes on a lazy sunday afternoon. Ordered the vongole which was very flavorful with the sauce sticking to the noodles. Sauce was rich and there was ample clams as well as ikura which enhances the dish. Would recommend. Wonderful little spot with well designed interior and friendly staff. overall recommend.
