[Fantastic Church] A highlight of Montreal's beautiful cathedral
📍Notre-Dame Basilica
The Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal is one of the highlights of sightseeing in Montreal.
It is one of the largest churches in North America, located in Old Montreal, a World Heritage Site.
The Notre-Dame Church in Paris is probably the most famous, but Notre-Dame means "Virgin Mary" in French, and churches named Notre-Dame have been built in French-speaking cities around the world.
Notre Dame de Montreal is a paid attraction, and there is a long line at the ticket counter, so it is best to buy tickets online in advance 👆🏽
The inside of the church is full of things to see, such as the colorfully decorated gorgeous altar, stained glass, and the impressive pipe organ 🥹💓
The altar is decorated with many bronze statues, and you can go up close to see the scene of Mary being crowned by Christ and the bronze statue of Christ on the cross ✨
Behind the altar there is a room for those who want to pray, but tourists are not allowed to enter it.
And the popular event at this church is the light show "AURA"! ︎
Even though it is a church, you can enjoy a projection mapping show that uses the inside of the building.
This is also only available to those who have a reservation-based ticket, so if you are going, please make a reservation early.
