After exiting Yangshuo Station, turn left and take a bus to West Street or Xingping Ancient Town. The bus fare is CNY 5 and it takes 15 minutes to get to Xingping Ancient Town Bus Station. Turn right after exiting the bus station and you will see the old street of the ancient town. The street runs from east to west. You can take photos during the day or at night. The highlight of Xingping is not the ancient town, but the landscape of the Li River. Here is a detailed description. There are two docks in Xingping. One is at the entrance of the ancient town, where the legendary CNY 85 tourist boat is located. The other is Chaobanshan Dock, which is outside the ancient town, across the iron bridge, and further south along the river. This dock is for CNY 140 electric bamboo rafts. Special reminder: The CNY 85 boat goes downstream on the Li River, so you can't see the view on the CNY 20 banknote. The CNY 140 bamboo raft is the right choice to see the view on the CNY 20 banknote and the Nine Horses Fresco Hill. Tickets are sold separately at the two docks. If your budget is limited, Guilin is definitely a good place to visit! The prices here are relatively low. Depart from Guangzhou South Station at 7:30am and take the train to Yangshuo Station for just 126 RMB. If you want to enjoy the beautiful view outside the window as shown in Figure 2, you can choose a seat on the DF side on the outbound journey and on the ABC side on the return journey. Arrive at Yangshuo Station at 10:40 am. After exiting the station, turn left and you will see the place to buy bus tickets. The ticket price from Yangshuo Station to Xingping Ancient Town is 5 yuan. Arrived at Xingping Ancient Town at 11:00 am and first went to the booked B&B to store luggage (free of charge). The B&B here is only a 1-minute walk from the bus station, which is very convenient! The room rate is 100 yuan per night. At 12:30 noon, I bought some bracelets in Xingping Ancient Town and tasted osmanthus jelly, beer fish and lemon tea, with a total consumption of 137 yuan (the osmanthus jelly tasted good, and the beer fish we ate was just average. To eat beer fish, you must go to the alley, which is more affordable than eating on the main road). At 15:30 in the afternoon, I strolled along the riverside and the ancient town for the last time, then bought tickets to the high-speed rail station.
