Museum of Natural History - Los Ángeles
Museum of Natural Science must be included in the TO-DO list of places to visit in Los Angeles. The whole visit, including walking around and taking pictures should last between 2 to 3 hours. This museum has an interesting colleccion of rocks, dinosaurs, hands-on activities and features several exhibitions which are changed periodically. There are a few places to get something to eat and drink with plenty of outdoor seating. This is good option if you traveling with kids as they will be definitely entertained around the place. It opens to the public everyday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

It turns out that giant gems all have their own names: The Los Angeles 100 Carat Gem Exhibit
Recently, the Los Angeles Natural History Museum has really stepped up, with the Hixon Gem Vault inside the museum hosting a gem exhibit called '100 Carats: Icons of the Gem World'.
This exhibit brings together more than twenty gems, including treasures never before displayed to the public, each one unimaginably stunning. Among them are the clear bi-color topaz-The Ukrainian flag, the nearly perfect emerald-The crown of Columbia, the spectacular royal blue sapphire-The healing blue, and the multicolored transparent tourmaline. The colorful tourmalines include the deep red rubellite-The scarlet red, the vibrant Paraíba-The magnificent, and the exquisitely cut 111-carat green tourmaline-The Imperial.
The highlight of the exhibit is the Jonker I Diamond, which is the largest diamond cut from the Jonker Diamond. Discovered in 1934, the Jonker Diamond was the fourth largest diamond in the world at the time, weighing 125 carats and is one of the largest cut diamonds in the world. This historic gem has passed through the hands of royalty and Hollywood stars around the world.
In addition to the large carat gems on display, other regular exhibits at the Los Angeles Natural History Museum are also well worth a visit, as mentioned in previous notes.
Bill Boyajian, former president of the American Gem Society, said of the exhibit, 'Who could bring together so many 100-carat or even larger gems? It will be a feast for the eyes for the audience. A rare opportunity.' The exhibit ends at the end of April, so gem enthusiasts should not miss it if they can go!

First time visitor and absolutely love this place. There's a variety of exhibits to explore and discover. The layout of the museum is such that there is no one way or "right" way to explore, and you may even find yourself wandering into different exhibits without planning to! The plaques are informative and their fossils collection is extensive. I appreciate how the plaques will showcase which part of the models are real fossils and which bones are recreated. From gems, to dinosaurs, bugs, mammals, birds, dioramas, gardens, there's so much to explore. I recommend getting in early! I did not get to visit the entire museum within my time there, and I will definitely be back.

Natural History Museum of Los Angeles 💎
The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles is probably my favorite museum also. The tickets are incredibly affordable and souvenirs are reasonably priced. 👍🏻
It was absolutely interesting with a vast variety of precious gems and minerals. A must see, the documentary about minerals and gems was very interesting and engaging. 🥰
The addition of the dinosaur and ice age mammal halls are so well done. The dinosaur fossils are totally epic and the animal exhibits are legit amazing. It's like stepping into Jurassic Park and a wildlife documentary all in one go. Overall it’s a great place for all ages to spend a whole fun, educational day. 💋
