Encountering Monet's Water Lilies at the National Museum of Western Art
Walking along the tree-lined paths of Ueno Park, with a gentle breeze blowing, the National Museum of Western Art stands quietly, like a box that holds time. This time, the special exhibition of Monet's 'Water Lilies' has attracted countless art lovers. With a heart full of poetic expectations for light and shadow, I pushed open the door to art.
Inside the exhibition hall, the lighting is soft, and Monet's 'Water Lilies' series is spread across the walls. The layers of ripples and light in the paintings seem to extend throughout the entire space. I lingered in front of one of the paintings, where the dark green floating leaves, soft pink flowers, and changing sky intertwined, as if I were in the pond of Giverny. The reflections on the water and the play of light are not just moments of nature, but reflections of Monet's soul. Every gaze feels like hearing the gentle lapping of the water.
When I left, night had fallen, and the lights of Ueno Park illuminated the entire grove. At this moment, Monet's paintings and the water lilies in my memory seemed to transform into the softest throbbing in my heart, making me understand that the beauty of art is not only on the canvas but in the silent dialogue between the viewer and the artwork.

The National Museum of Western Art: A dialogue across time and space.
The National Museum of Western Art is worth a visit, with Western paintings from the Middle Ages to the early 20th century and French modern sculptures.
Art students must visit to admire the Water Lilies by Monet, a representative painter of Impressionism. The National Museum of Western Art in Tokyo is now holding an exhibition of Water Lilies. There are also works by Manet, Cézanne, Van Gogh, and Gauguin. I also saw Picasso's late works.
At the entrance are Rodin's The Gates of Hell and The Thinker.
Japanese people are very quiet when visiting exhibitions, and you can hardly hear people talking in the museum. Please keep quiet.

🖼️"Monet: Water Lilies"
✨The exhibition features 50 works from the Marmottan Monet Museum, one of the largest collections of Monet's paintings in the world, including more than 20 of Monet's most important late works, "Water Lilies," as well as Monet's paintings from Japan.
🎫JPY 2,300
⚠️The queue starts at 9 am. The Japanese really love Monet.
The exhibition is crowded, but everyone is quiet and orderly.
Only the third chapter is allowed to take photos 📷, basically the ones in the picture.
You can see a lot of authentic works, and the JPY 2,300 ticket is worth it.
You can buy souvenirs without a ticket, but there are long queues. The most worthwhile purchase is the exhibition catalog.
The last photo was taken at the Musée de l'Orangerie in Paris.

The National Museum of Western Art.
The National Museum of Western Art (国立西洋美術館) is located in Ueno Park, Tokyo, Japan. It was established in April 1959 and is based on the Impressionist paintings and sculptures of Auguste Rodin collected by Yukijiro Matsukata and donated by the French government. It is open to the public for the exhibition of Western art works. As the only national art museum in Japan that covers the complete system of Western art, the National Museum of Western Art is centered on exhibition business and is committed to the collection and sorting of Western art-related works and materials, investigation and research, preservation and restoration, education and popularization, and publication activities.
The National Museum of Western Art has permanent exhibitions in the main hall (designed by Le Corbusier, 1959) and the new hall (designed by Kuniomi Maekawa, 1979), including the core Matsukata collection of the museum, as well as works purchased, donated, and hosted since the establishment of the museum from the Renaissance to the early 20th century. In addition, the National Museum of Western Art cooperates with newspapers and other institutions to hold about three planned exhibitions in the planned exhibition hall every year, mainly displaying works borrowed from art museums in Europe and the United States, and is committed to widely introducing Western art.

German writer Novalis wrote: 'The gallery is the place where the future world sleeps. Future historians, philosophers, and artists are born and grow here - shaping themselves here and living for this world.'
Has the National Museum of Western Art become such a 'place where the future world sleeps'?
The exhibition will pose this question to artists, who will answer it through their works.
A small regret about the photo works, the 4th photo shows the meaning of the work, mainly lacking the QR code of the work.
