Not just books at this place!
While visiting Riga you might not think that a visit to the Library are a must- well I must stop you right there ! This place is a must stop on your next trip to Riga! The library lays next to the river across from old town. I want to it has like 9 floors . at the top you can see a beautiful view of the river and a big flag of Latvia. the even had a secret little place with some sofas on the top. About the other floors , you can find of course some books and some arts. on one floors that had a expedited about money and coins from Latvia. On the day a visit they had a celebration had a concert on. they have a lot of different activities so it’s with to check in there website to see what is going on at the moment. don’t miss this place!

Latvia National Library
#celebrateit #latvia
Visited National Library of Latvia in its capital city, Riga. The library building has a unique shape.
Even though the library is open for public, the staff will ask your intention, and in my case, I told them I am a tourist and would love to see inside. You will need to keep your belongings in a locker but are allowed to bring phone and valuable things. Non members/students will not be able to enter books area.
It is located right across the bridge. In the evening it looks beautiful from accross the bridge with the lights comes from inside the building.

Discover Riga! 3 Epic Days of Unforgettable Adventure and Culture
**Day 1: Touchdown in Riga!** ✈️
Landed Friday afternoon and grabbed a **budget-friendly rental car** (€47 for 3 days – steal alert! 🚗💨). Headed straight to the **Central Market** 🥨🍎 – a sensory overload of local flavors and crafts!
**Check-in and Relax:** Checked into Bellevue Park Hotel Riga, a fantastic deal via Trip.com at €120 for 2, breakfast and free parking included. Checked into the hotel, hit the **spa** (small surcharge, totally worth it 💆♀️✨), then rallied with fellow travelers who we met on our flight. Nightlife mode activated: two bars + clubs 🍸🕺 – perfect for shaking off jet lag!

**Day 2: Sigulda Thrills & Chills!** 🌲❄️
Started with a **morning run** through the park near the hotel 🏃♂️🌳, you could also go for a morning walk… for epic views on bridges, through museums, and the National Library! Then back to the hotel for breakfast 😋 to refuel us for the **50-minute drive to Sigulda**; known for its breathtaking landscapes and outdoor activities.

✅ **Gauja Cable Car**: Soared over lush valleys (cost a few euros, but great views! 💚).
✅ **Reina Trase Ski Resort** 🎿: Just 10 mins from Sigulda! Rented **full gear + instructor** for **€80** – learned to ski like a pro in ~2 hours (joking 🤭) (add extra time for €5-10? Worth it!).
Back in Riga, adrenaline wasn’t done: **Shooting range session** 🔫💥 – handled everything from pistols to rifles (€30 for the ultimate “pew pew” experience!).
---

An inspiring space for exploration 🇱🇻👫😎
#urbanwanderings
The National Library of Latvia, also known as the Castle of Light, is one of my favorite urban wandering spots. This modern information and cultural center is a remarkable place worth visiting and learning from. Its striking architecture stands out in Riga, offering an inspiring space for exploration. Inside, the library houses vast collections of books, manuscripts, and digital archives, providing a deep insight into Latvian and world literature. I enjoy wandering through its spacious halls, appreciating both the knowledge it holds and its beautiful design. The National Library is more than a place for reading—it’s a hub for culture and learning, making it a must-see for visitors in Riga.

Two years ago, my visit to the National Library of Latvia left an indelible impression. The awe-inspiring architecture of the building, coupled with its well-established presence, made it a cultural gem. The sleek modernity of its design seamlessly coexisted with the historical significance it housed.
As I explored, the library unfolded as a testament to Latvia's commitment to intellectual heritage. The impressive collection of books, manuscripts, and historical artifacts mirrored the nation's rich cultural tapestry. Each corner revealed a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation. The ambiance resonated with a sense of reverence for knowledge, encapsulating the library's role as a guardian of Latvia's past and present. It was more than a repository; it was a living tribute to the enduring spirit of learning and culture.
In 2024, I wish to visit Bangkok.
